What, not seeing them, or them leaving you? If they left solely because you moved, they weren't worth being friends with anwyay.

    For Example

4870x2 is the best card on earth today

Heh, you can't go back until you go to a LAN and realise what a pain in the proverbial they are to carry around...

Sam - yeah I know that's the reason you don't have a full tower - plus you have that special carrying bag for your NZXT, right?

Shaff - are you in love? So, dude, DDR3 offers no advantage right now due to 10GB fsb restriction - but with Nehalem on the new build and IMC, (and triple channel ram) the faster memories will begin to kick in and help with gaming? Groovy!

Boozer, ok, my mobo is an MS-7103 with 800mhz side bus, socket 775 p4 3.2ghz - can I OC it?

Ray, thanks for the encouragement - yeah I'll be going quad core or whatever is the nehalem equivalent.

GTR - yeah, I've been amazed at some of the anandtech articles.

ah crap! Email notification didn't work no wonder it's so quiet.

@Spam, lol...mid towers are best for LAN and full towers are best to stay at home.

@harvrdguy, what can i call you instead? because your name "harvrdguy" i keep typing it wrong!

Nice one, I've heard good things about the studio, wonder how the card rates against mine, post some specs when you get it (IF):p

Your card is better. I REALLY could use the extra CPU speed and Ram though. So I'm comfortable running Vista.

That Studio looks sexy as hell. This is what my current laptop looks like. It's UGLY :(

Hmm, I never liked the look of the Acers. No offense or anything, I always thought they were ugly. Ehh, I'm REALLY Critical. I wouldn't buy the Inspirons before because they looked pretty bad to me too.

This is what mine will look like!! :)

I know not the best looking but not bad, and performance is good

I actually wanted an XPS, but you can't configure them here, you can just buy pre-configured ones, and the one with similar specs to my acer was wayyyyy to expensive

    I'm happy :D

Looking at Steam I've come to realize that games don't really seem to be any cheaper via DD as they would if I picked up them up at retail. Seeing that and how I avoid BB/FS like the plague I've come to realize I have no idea where a PC would purchase games in Canada, somewhere with good selection and good pricing?

Any advice fellow canucks? I'm sure Wal-Mart has some but they seem more geared towards console gaming, same with HMV.

Rich: That's correct. Carrying a case without one was agony by comparison, compounded by the extra size and weight of full towers (the PC-A70B may be light, but the Antec 900 is featherweight, and was still a real pain to carry due to all the sharp angles)

As for overclocking, basic MSI boards have no features for it whatsoever. Check your BIOS, but I'm not that hopeful, you may have to use CPUFSB (Software overclocking) , which will give limited results.
GTR: Technically you should have an SFF PC for LAN. Small form factor cases like the NZXT Rogue and Silverstone Sugo may be big for SFFs, but are still half the size of full PCs and can carry proper top-end components. OcUK sell a PC with a 4870X2 in one, that shows you how much room there is.

Man, these laptop pics are getting bigger and bigger! 980x1027 Abuzar?

Shamb1les: They aren't cheaper, but they're convenient. You never lose the game, whereas if you lose the DVD for a real game, you're chuffed.

I'm getting a slim 12-14"(I'm not sure) Dell notebook. It has a 1.4GHz Pentium M, 1GB of Crucial RAM, and an 80GB HDD. Using Intel Extreme Graphics 2m. It has a docking station with the extra battery, charging ports, DVD-RW drive and I/O ports. Out of the dock it has 2 USB plugins. With the docking station, it has 6. The whole thing is in working order... actually, it's like new. It's really nice. I'm getting it for $100 from my sister so I thought it was a good deal :p

I'm hoping to play Half Life 1, Starcraft, Stronghold, Diablo 2, Freedom Fighters, Call of Duty. I just want to try it out. Old games are awesome on a laptop!
