I'm guessing mine is running at Cas 4 and that that's pretty good for its speed?

Well that depends. Did you build this computer yourself? If it is a dell or compaq or something along those lines then you can't overclock.

Basically all you have to do is enter bios setup. you should see instructions on how to do that when you start up your pc. In my case it is the del key. after you get in you have to find options tp change the fsb. you should probably post what kinda mobo you have.

Did the compaq come with the mobo? You can't overclock compaqs because Compaq blocks the options from the BIOS. They are interested in computers running stable at their stock speeds and not crashing because people messed with overclocking. If you put in a different motherboard, well than chances are that you can overclock, although I don't think you will be getting very high as AMDs don't overclock all that well.

I was hoping you all could lend me some assistance. I'm looking to overclock my E6700 but the Asus barebone mobo (V-series P5945G) won't support doing so. So, I'm looking to find a good mobo for overclocking--any sugestions?

Hey Mort8, thanks for the suggestions. Forgive me for not being computer savvy in any way shape or form--but how can I tell if these boards will be compatible with the rest of my barebone system?
