Marsey: That's it, for the Quad I may need to do so. With my 3.15Ghz E4300 however I'm using an 800rpm Nexus fan, at 19dB. It's practically inaudible.
get the q6700!!!! thats what i just did, i ordered a q6700 and am gonna replace the e6300 with the old q6600 and then use the q6700 in my main rig! the q6700's are so cheap, its unbelievable! and you get a 10x multiplier!!!!!!!!!!! -im1992
btw, no overclocking as quad cores is enough for me to play around with for at least 3 months before i feel i need to push it... surprisingly i still don't feel like pushing my q6600, i did get it to boot at 3.6ghz with stock voltages but didn't test nor did i keep it at that speed... -im1992
the problem i am having is that i can get the q6700 for $135 whereas it would cost me $200 for the q6600.......i only have a coupon for a q6700.... -im1992
Sam. just how can ya tell if your putting more air in then what is getting out? i have my 2 side 120mm fans running right from the PSU. full power. as intake. i then have my twin 140mm fans on top as exhaust. but they are on my mobo and arent running full speed.i know they are 140mm fans and do a bit more. but should i have 1 of them running full speed and maybe connect one of the side fans to the mobo and let it be regullated by the mobo? hence haveing 1 intake and 1 exhaust being controlled by the mobo and one of each running full speed??? plus i have my front fan the tricool runnning on high. and my rear fan connected to the mobo like normal.??? any ideas/thoughts? anyone? i have seen my temps come down from where they were but i think they should be even lower....
I've never used a scientific method to do it, just employed a little common sense - have an equal proportion of fans going in as out - if you have an even number of case fans, it's easy. If not, it's a little more difficult, but can be done, you just have to try and guess how much air fans are pushing, and remember to consider the impact of tight grilles and dust filters. What's the speed of all the fans you're using?
i ordered it!!!!!!!! hehe but unfortunately will get it 2 weeks from now since intel is "out of stock" for the q6700, they have all the sh*t i dont want (wolfdales and yorkies) for half price, even a qx9650 for $450, w/e. this is pissing my off! -im1992
yesir! even if its poop and cheap , ppl would get it. i mean ppl get the celeron dual core just cause its for 50 bucks even when they don't need it! -im1992
hehe, i didn't mean to say that wolfdales were bad, just that i don't like them......well, my motherboard doesn't like them (ASUS Striker extreme - 680i) -im1992
was just mess with ya. no harm..lol im loven my E8400 wolfdale. finally..lol inside joke huh found the specs on my 3 CM 120mm fans Size: 120x120x25mm Noise: 19.8 dBA Speed: 1200 RPM Air Flow: 44.03 CFM Part number: A12025-12CB-3BN-F1 Accessories: 3-to-4 pin power cable adapter
where can you get a Q9450 for 1/2 price? that's exactly what I want. 12M non-shared L2 cache. got to watch my $ right now as I just bought a set of klipsch promedia ultra 5.1's and I'm saving for a new ride but if I can find a 9450 1/2 price, I'll put it on the plastic
lol its ok sam...lmao 2 of the CM fans are on my side panel as intake the other CM fan is my rear fan as exhaust. the antec is set on high and my fron intake fan then the 2 aerocool 1400mm fans are on top as exhaust.. Mort i seen over at microcenter they have the Q9450 for $299. i know that s not half the price but a good 150 lower than normal
That's more like 60 lower than normal, but still a good deal. Man I wish I had a Microcenter near me!
intel employee disc. unfortunately, they are only giving me a few choices, qx6850, qx9650, q9300, q6700, e8400, & t7100 no q9450 for 1/2 price...sry -im1992
