    im1992,
Well I personally wouldn't exceed 1.4v with it anyway. Better to run a little slower than to make smoke with it! LOL!!

    Best Regards,
    Russ

In other news, one of the components in my server has kicked the bucket. I initially suspected the PSU as the GPU error light is on and the only time that has happened before is when it's not powered - however, the PCIe power connector was voltmeter tested to be 12.42V, plenty enough - unfortunately I don't really have the means to test it when load is being drawn off it fully. However, given that the system is also unresponsive with a second GPU that doesn't need the PCIe connector, I figure something must be wrong with the motherboard. Finding a Socket 939 board worth its salt these days probably won't be easy.

I wish you would have thought about that before spouting in the first place....but I'll save you for last Sam.

Shaffaaf, no email addresses per forum rules...a senior member should definitely know better by now.

Everyone else needs to get this thread back on topic or it will suffer similar fates as the other ones that have been closed because of the off topic banter. I'm just as guilty as anyone of posting an off topic comment here and there, but I've suffered through 5 pages of this BS. I started on page 279 if anyone would like to go and reread what they've posted and think about it....Im1992 watch the language.

Now Sambo Addict's aren't allowed to run off other Addicts. Mort is entitled to his opinion just like you are and everyone else in this thread and this forum for that matter. You need to contact Mort and make things right ASAP. I want to see him here posting at AD, not in this thread, but somewhere on AD soon. While you are thinking "why is loco making me do this?" read rule 6 from the forum rules again.

Loco: It'll get done. Would you mind if I wait a day or so before doing so, though? I'm, shall we put it "in deep doodoos" with a very large number of people at the moment, and I'm no right state of mind to phrase a genuine apology.

    sorry loco.

and sam, i dont think anyone needs a apology from you, you appologized is the huge thread.

    oh so now into OCing.

    i have my E2140 at 3GHz @ 1.376

does that seem to high, or should i lower it? i have tried it at a lower voltage yet.

Does it have a stock Vcore of 1.325 like the other duos? because if it does that's perfectly safe, you've room to up it.

Ran some more comprehensive testing on my server, and it's another dead motherboard! To be fair, it's outlived the other Asus boards I've had, the A8N-SLI SE lasted 7 months, the P5N-E SLI 9, and this board's lasted a comparatively impressive 16. Heh, my old MSI MS-6775 OEM board's still limping along despite being the grand old age of 4 1/2 and having been shot by a faulty PSU... I think I'm going to have a tinker with an MSI board as its replacement if I can find one cheap off ebay.

I'm absolutely paranoid about being hunted down for this post again, so if I've worded it wrong, please tell me and I'll have it corrected.

mmm, maybe ill try and push this V down and then if not, ill put it at 1.4 and see how far i go.

    hopefully 400FBS as that will give me 3.2GHz, a 100% OC :)

for some reason...my e6300 runs at 3088mhz perfectly with 1.15v but even if I give it 1.4 volts, it doesn't clock any higher, not even 1mhz higher! any have something i could try that could "solve" this problem?

    shaffaaf & sammorris,
The voltage for the E2140 is 0.85v to 1.5v. Realistically, you should be able to get it to right about 3.2GHz. Essentially it's an E4200 with half the L2 cache! That would also be a 100% OC! LOL!!

    Best Regards,
    Russ
