    Congrat!

    Yes I remember when that happened to me back in 2003 or early 2004. It was the last promotion I had before they started using the number of posts to promote. Keep posting they way that you've been posting lately and it won't be long until you reach addict status.

    lol
    i never posted much on this thread until this quad was being a PITA...
    never had sooo many problems with overclocking a CPU b4....i mean, even my P4 3ghz (socket 478), overclocked to 3.8ghz on an ECS motherboard!
    i have another question for you guys....i have a P4 2ghz (100mhz fsb x 20 multi)...is there a pin mod to mod the cpu to a 133mhz fsb x 20 multi or am i just dreaming?

    Haha, I remember that they used to make you a Senior Member on what you contributed, but not your post count.

    Not on a 65 NM processor which can easily handle 1.45-1.5 vcore with decent cooling (not water).

    im1992,
    It looks very good! How's the temps doing? For some reason I though you had a Q9450, which is limited to a lower core voltage. The Q6700 can easily handle 1.40v without problems!

    Best Regards,
    Russ

    i have a F2 stepping E2140 with a VID of 1.325, and i have OCed mine from 1.6GHz to 3.0 with only 1.35 on the Vcore, and 1.4 on the NB. im sure if i took it to 1.4, i could get to 3.2

    yea the duals are easy to overclock....
    i got my e6300 (1.86ghz stock) to 3.1ghz with 1.15v...jaw dropping...huh?
    and it was 24/7 stable at those setting for a good 10 months (till i upgraded to this q6700...)

    my cousin has a q9450 and i was trying to help him overclock...(we both bought our processors at the same exact time...him a q9450 and me a q6700)
    i set the voltage to 1.45v in the BIOS but it drops .09v for some reason even w/o a load? so, it actually "only" needs the 1.36v to run stable at that speed...
    IDLE: the cpu temp is 24 degrees C and the Core temps are: 45 - 46 - 43 - 40 (lol, this CPU needs a good lapping...maybe later on)
    LOAD (100%): CPU temp: 41, Core temps: 61 - 61 - 58 - 60 (some times Core 0 and Core 1 go up to 68)

    Sup baltekmi!?!?!,

    If you have a second hard drive in the computer that has windows installed:
    -> Start
    -> My Computer
    -> Right Click on the Hard Drive you want to format
    -> Click Format
    -> Select which File System you want and set the allocation unit size to "default allocation size"
    -> select a name for your drive
    -> if you are keeping the drive, select "quick format", if you are selling / giving away the drive DO NOT SELECT quick format, none of the other options should be selected either....
    -> click "Start"

    If you don't have another hard drive with Windows installed:
    Use the driver CD that came with your Hard Drive (Boot from the CD during POST) and follow the On-Screen instructions...

    If you have any more questions regarding this topic or any other
    topic, please ask me and I would be happy to help.
    thanks,
    -im1992

    im1992,
    I think Baltekmi has a boot sector virus. He formated the drive and installed XP-Pro on it and it wouldn't allow him to install his programs because he can't get rid of the old registry, which shows the programs already installed. You can re-format and re-install XP and it keeps coming back. I've had 2 like that in the last two weeks and the only cure was to completely wipe the drive with Acronis Disk Cleanser or Killdisk and start over!

    Best Regards,
    Russ
