I'm here. just lurking in the background. getting some cheap intertainmemt watching you NOVICES OC your Q6600's :) :) hehe lol.

I'm gonna flash my bios with the latest official bios (just came out rescently) and might bump my OC up to 3.5ghz later today. I probably won't go any higher than that since this pc has to last a while.

I bought a new (used) ride and don't have the extra cash at the moment for new pc hardware in the event something fails.

    what he said. lol. :D

Yeh I knew you was joking around. :p Think about a manual setting and a BIOS update if needed, I think it's the only way to have/get that OC and be stable. :) Come on Sammy.... get 'er done!!!@!@!@!

Yeah a new BIOS is on the cards for me I think, the overclocking is just too obscure with F1.

    sam,

if it won't even pass a burn in test, it is no where near stable. I mean c'mon what good is an OC if all you can do is search the web and chat online? no offense but lets be realistic.

I agree with gm and spamual. time for a bios update and you're going to have to take it off auto pilot if you ever want to get any descent stable OC.

I agree. To it's credit it has passed playing games, running 3dmark, and all that without a hitch. The stumbling block for extended use right now though is the heat, I'm not going to play with OC'ing much until I figure out a way of reattaching a fan to my Ultra-120 without the clips.

I've had my Q9450 to over 3.6ghz but didn't leave it there. I need a good reliable pc and one that I can depend on daily.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by that but I needed a newer car worse than I need a screaming pc for bragging rights. I have to fend for myself. no parents to tuck me under their wing.
