The E6750 is supported after F2, but that's the DS3L. Russ has the DS3R.

Russ? Who cares about him? lol Just Kidding!

But I was talking about KRJ. I should have been more clear. I just thought you would automatically think it was him since he is the only one with a DS3L. Look up the Q9550(which he has) it's only supported under F8.

    abuzar1,
That's why a name helps, Yo-Yo! LOL!! Honest, you won't die if you type in someone's name. It lets us all know who the hell you are replying to! ROFLMAO!! Why this is such a difficult concept for you is beyond me, but that's two strikes and I'm loading the clip now! LOL!!

You have to be so careful about not accidentally getting the wrong bios revision! It can be a real disaster. I had a BioStar GForce MB and I downloaded the appropriate bios and after I flashed it the MB was stone DEAD! BioStar accidentally put the bios for the TForce MB in the wrong place! To their credit, They made good on it immediately. I had a new MB overnight, and they paid for the shipping both ways! They even had UPS pick it up!

Here's the link for all the bios revisions available for my Rev 2.0 DS3R! Do not use them on a DS3L!

My link got lost in all of you guys rambling maddness. lol

Here is the link for the GA-P35-DS3L(REV 2). This is a list of all the CPUs compatible with the board. It states you should get F8 BIOS for the Q9550.

    http://tw.giga-byte.com/Support/Motherbo...?ProductID=2629

Now scroll up on that page, go to the BIOS section and get downloading. This is directed at KRJ.

Q8200? That's gonna suck. What's it going to be? a 2.3Ghz Quad Core with a 7x multi and 4MB of cache?

    LOL

    HOLY CRAP.

I was just joking, but HONESTLY I was about to write 2.3GHz but I exaggerated it more. I was spot on in other things, and I was just joking! lol

The Q8200 is not an upgrade from what you have. In fact it could end up being a downgrade. anyone who has tried to overclock a quad core will tell you not to expect the results that you're seeing with Dual core overclocks.

Ignore the taunts from others who think that your interests are not to their liking, and do a little more research. The Q6700 is a decent processor and moving to anything less than a Q9550 isn't really an upgrade.

but its gonna be realllly cool....(temp wise)
i bet you can stick one of those in an ASUS C90(with an updated mobo for 45nm quads) and it would run like a dream

Yeah it's going to be cool. But a 7x multi? How are you going to overclock with that? People have a hard enough time with a Q9300...

Who cares how cool it runs as long as it is running well within specification. IF temperature is all that's bothering you than go to water cooling and it will no longer be an issue. A P4 idles at temperatures that would cause a C2D owner to collapse in a state of panic. Keep what you've got, spend a little more, or go to a dual core for higher clocks.

    w/o overclocking....
but nehalem will probably be the way to go for any future upgrade of mine....
for now, i am gonna run my q6700 at 1333mhz fsb (tape mod) and 6x multi (2.0GHz)+ drop the voltage to 1.25v

I'm not so sure yet that Nahelem will be a genuine upgrade from some of the current stock, especially if the current stocks prices come down. Nehalem will probably be clock per clock a real champion and is thought to be at least 35% faster than C2D clock per clock. Where I would have some concern is how much can it be overclocked? Because it has an on CPU memory controller replacing the FSB that has got to prove limiting. Remember that on CPU memory has to run at the same speed as the CPU. The memory performance will probably be off the scale compared to what we have now but CPU performance could be a non starter. For instance if♠ I can overclock a Q9550 to 3.7 GHz, how high does a Nehalem have to clock to match it? My advice is to wait until the dust settles and keep and eye on current CPU prices.

Well this is all I've got. I would upgrade the BIOS if I were you. w/e
