    sam try this for now:
Iv'e got a feeling your cpu might need the extra .05v to get you into windows.
A mistake on my part was that I was working on you having 2x512meg value select not 2x1GB chips which is why 1T command rate was causing problems.
set your FSB to 228mhz and your cpu voltage to 1.4v.
This will put you at 2508mhz.

    aabbccdd,
44 degrees is nothing to be concerned about if thats under load.If thats at idle then you may want to try and increase the airflow through your case.

Is there any where you can place a fan to blow air over your card if your really concerned?I don't know of any aftermarket options as far as a dedicated gpu cooler goes for that card.

my Lian-Li has a side fan pulling air out on the videocard/mobo , the 7950 GX2 takes up two PCI slots. and yes that was under load playing Ghost Recon. at idle right now the CPU is running 38c which is fine and the mobo is at 42c. heres the inside of the Lian-Li case . i did turn around the the rear fan so its pulling air out along with the Zalman 9500 blowing to the back.per my sig

    aabbccdd,
Have you got any fans pushing air in?

Try the side fan blowing air in and the leave the rear fan drawing air out.

    aabbccdd,
    whats your room temp (roughly)?

crowy yes the front fan is pulling air in room temp is around 73F

geestar20 my 7800 GTX was running about 34c with a cooler which i though was better. but being the 7950 GX2 takes up two PCI slots i doubt they will make an aftermarket cooler for it

    aabbccdd,
Leave the front fan as it is and the rear fan.Try the side fan blowing air in and see if it makes a difference.

    aabbccdd,
I read somewhere on another Forum, that your particular case doesn't do too well with passively cooled motherboards. That might have something to do with temps!

Russ I'M sure it does but the cooler i had on the 7800 GTX got them down quite a bit and now running the 7950 GX2 without a cooler my temps are up a bit but still within range

That's nothing, my X1900 idles at 50 and at full load is between 65 and 95. That's fine for it, and nVidia cards are more heat tolerant than ATIs.

Yeah, unfortunately I was out at Thorpe Park over the rememberance period, but best wishes to all those affected by the tragedy 5 years ago. I'm currently leaving my X2 at 220x11 for now. It seems to run stable, so I'm keeping it there.

Mmm, 2.4 is a nice even number, but right now I'm at 2.42. That tickles me ever so slightly as it's exactly double "one point twenty-one jiggerhertz" - a bit of a back to the future moment there!
