Hello, thought I'd give an update. I haven't run 3DMark03 yet, I got something else that tells me. Zone Alarm doesn't give the popup any longer, but nwiz is still starting on startup(it's in my HjT log). I got PC Wizard 2006 and was browsing through yesterday and it's showing default speeds for the card. I tried everything again to see if it would change with same results. RivaTuner(default on close), nVHardPage(same 014 core error) and I got CoolBits which doesn't help either. With nVHardPage, I'm not able to clock the memory because of the error. I can clock the core but haven't tried it yet 'cause I'm not sure how that works out...can I clock the core and not the memory and not cause problems? Anything else I can try?
It is jiggerwatts from the film yes, but you don't measure CPUs in GW! Not normal desktop ones anyway!
Niobis, Try clocking the core say 10mhz at a time then run 3D mark after each o/c.See what your scores are from there.
sam, your memory runs around 3% slower at 2T Versus 1T.You need a 7% increase in cpu speed to counteract that.I'll let you do the math!!! I'v'e had a couple of drinks so the brain is in rest mode!!!
sammorris, Only if you want to light up the Southern Hemisphere as that would generate some serious sparks! LOL Happy Computering, theone
sam, Lets assume your at 2200mhz @1T command rate.To get the same performance running at 2T command rate you need to add 7% to your cpu speed.7% of 2200=154.So 2200+154=2354mhz.So at the moment your slightly ahead running 2420mhz @2t command rate provided your memory is still clocked at DDR400.If your memory struggles to run @ DDR400 @ 1T there would be cause to investigate!!
Hmm, yes there would. However, I can't really even give the "stable" stamp on this 10% OC. It runs applications fine, and has never crashed (yet) running a game or such, but on occasions when it first boots up it will crash after loading a program in the system tray (not sure what that is). Only happens maybe 15% of the time, but nonetheless happens and didn't before the OC.
sam, have a look in your bios and see if you have an option that says "Idle cycle limit".Make sure it's set at 256 clks.
OK i'll have a look for that, same old scenario though, I have to disappear when you're about to help!
sam,yes really!! Have a look at this: ASUS A8N-SLI Bios Mod Published on September 11th, 2006 Are you stuck with an old ASUS A8N-SLI (Non-Deluxe and Deluxe) motherboard? If you are, then we have some good news for you. As you probably know, ASUS has stopped releasing BIOS updates for these motherboards. The last BIOS update was at the end of 2005. We’ve discovered that it’s possible to flash the Premium BIOS on the normal A8N-SLI motherboard, or even the deluxe version. What will you gain from flashing the premium BIOS on the normal A8N-SLI? * Updated BIOS with many fixes and updates * Better support for memory modules * Better overclocking ability * Support for GeForce 7950GX2 * Ability to change chipset voltage * Ability to change HT voltage Go Here: http://www.ngohq.com/home.php?page=articles&go=read&arc_id=111
