iv seen a few reports of the e6300/e6400's getting 80%+ and some older semprons getting 50% but they are so rare that they could be fake, who knows.

oc...aint that difficult if u think bout it...once i got bord and i play around on the system software and found out how to oc...thats fun...

 

I've never seen 80% on a 6400, but 75% is possible with the 6300, and a really good board/RAM/PSU. I think 70% might just be achievable on a 6400, I don't know.

It would seem not, but it certainly wouldn't last as long, not long enough to be used as an office PC, but then office PCs usually don't need to be overclocked!

My E6400 is overclocked 50% with little to no temperature increases... 29° C idle and 47° C load on air... See sig. for CPU-Z validation ID.

 

Yeah, but look at the mobo and cooler you use... What PSU is that with?

 

ggrrrr, psu's. mine packed in the other day.

i got up and tried to turn it on, nothing, opened up the case, rechecked everything, changed fuses, power leads all without success. got my old 350w out and stuck it in everything worked???

so i took it back to the shop and they had had a few that had been returned with the same thing. apart from that it was great. anyway, he didnt have any others of similar spec so i have had to get a 600w jeantech one from pcworld. have to say that so far i am quite impressed with it. modular cables, 4 and 8 pin 5v, 2 6 pin pcie lines. the only down side is that the 2 12v lines are only 22amp, but as yet thats not a problem for me.

off topic sorry.

i have found that for benchmarks i am better to oc only as far as my ram will go instead of using dividers, but for games it seems that it doesnt matter if i use them.

strange but true, anyone else found this?

 

couldn't say about the RAM from experience, but what PSU was it that failed?

hahaha...is this ram good the [Corsair XMS2 8500]...cause i was thinking of getting it...and one question why do ppl get sound cards?...

 

a good sound card is better than the onboard sound card that comes with the mobo ,they have mic outputs etc.

 

so u can hear things that u neva heard it before...

 

depends on your speakers but yes . if you listen to alot of music or game with your PC you want to invest in a decent soundcard for sure

 

but a decent sound card u need a decent amount of cash to get it...

 

not necessarily good ones can be had for 50 dollars even less

Tell you what I got a killer piece of music if you want to test your on-board sound. If you get distortion, especially in the bass, your on-board sucks. It will take your sound system through a very strange tour. Along the way it manages to cover a lot of musical styles from classical to hard rock and culminates with a Nuclear Explosion. Have you ever heard an accompanied drum duet? It's wild and 12:17 long. I can crank up all 425 Watts of my sound system and you can "Feel" the music in your body. Considering the 5 tiny Sony speakers and 1 10" Woofer that came with my Digital Audio Control Center and the old Sound Blaster Live card in the PC, it's truely amazing sound and I Definately don't crank it up on an empty stomach! Anyway this piece of music is by Kansas (Old Kansas!) and it's called "Incumudro" and it's one kick-a$$ piece of music.
