The model according to the manual is 865PE-A, but here's a screen shot using CPUZ, if you need more info.

All appologies, I've stuffed up big time, no wonder I confused you.

It's an ECS (not ICS) Elitegroup mobo (see sig).

A temp brain fry, will adjust :p

i think the reason that the screen went blank on us is because our motherboards are not supported

    im not sure tho

    onya,
You probably kicked up the AGP bus too much when you raised the FSB. Unless you can lock it at 66/33 it may give you problems. See if it offers you the option in the set-up. On-board video almost always gives this type of problem. My AGP X800GTO will not work above about 3.3 unless I lock the AGP/PCI buss at 66.66/33.33! It should be listed as AGP/PCI Frequency in the set-up, if it has one. If it does, it's probably set on auto. Just set it to 66.66/33.33. That should lock it!

Hi theonejrs, where do I go to check the frequency?

    Cheers.

You're overclocking an ECS? Good luck! You may need it....

@sammorris, There's that deja vu thing, I remember that you said that to me some time ago, oh crap! I'd forgotten all about it. Well, I've still got an old P3 to keep me going if the ECS won't. Fingers crossed.

    Cheers.

Yeah, by all means give it a shot, but don't expect any major increases, and don't overdo the voltages. In fact, if I were you to be safe, leave the voltages alone.

    onya,
It's usually in the advanced section of the set-up. You might want to check the DRAM Frequency as well to see if it can be locked at 400MHz. It might say 200x2. If it doesn't boot just go back and set it to the next speed down and see what it does! Did you find any memory settings for timings? If your MB has none of these items then Clockgen won't help much as you will pretty much be limited by the video card. If you are using a Flat-Screen try lowering the manual resolution as it may be switching to a resolution that you monitor can't do with the present drivers. Usually this will give you an "Out of Range" box on the screen though!

BTW I went to ECS and tried to download the manual. I wasn't able to connect but I did notice an "Overclocking" utility for this MB.

Take a look and see what you think!

EDIT: I just discovered this useful bit of info on overclocking your MB. Complete with screen shots of the bios!

    onya,

Try sis sandra to determine your mobo model and version.

i did say that you might get limited results with clock gen. it cant always change the things you need it to. i think that maybe ignoring the pci might be the reason tho.

if your mobo manufactor has their own utility find and use that. a friend of mine has a 1.7ghz p4 and he too couldnt get clockgen to do any thing for his board. i found a util on gigabytes webby and its now running 24/7 at just under 2.2ghz as it locked every thing that neededit and could raise the cpu volts aswell as monitor all the temps. it also nearly doubled the cpu fan speed to 5100 rpm, it now sounds like a mini torrnado in his case, but hes happy.

    edit

everest will also tell you all you need to know about your kit aswell.

    i was just wondering...

could you overclock the cpu and RAm on another board and then switch it back to the previous board?

or does it have to be on the original board?

    Nissan101,
No, because it takes the settings from the motherboard so when it's shut off it's the MB that does the remembering!

Yeah, unfortunately overclocking only changes the settings on the motherboard that tell the mobo how to operate the CPU, nothing on the CPU is affected.

Hey i was wonderin if anyone could share their foughts.
I have a Asus P5W DH deluxe mobo and an intel e6300 cpu. i am waiting for my case to arrive before i can set it up. i know that you can get decent overclocks with an e6300 ive seen some people hit 3.5 on air. i was just wondering if anyone has the same setup and what speed their running at as i heard the northbridge gets really hot on the P5W DH and the cpu doesnot reach its full potential because of this? thanks (i am using is Scythe Infinity heatsink)
