I think that one of us should setup the account. I vote Russ or Greeny. I think that they both can be reasonably trusted. Anyone else have a better idea?

    Thanks Soph,
I appreciate that! I do have to decline, because of my health, but thanks for the vote of confidence anyway!

    Best Regards,
    Russ

Lemme know what to do and I'll set it up if RedRob is willing. Knowing him he'd be flattered but pride may enter into this situation. :D

Why? All the regulars here are friends, and that's the kind of things Friends do for Friends! Besides, we need his ass here, otherwise who are we going to pick on during baseball season? LOL!! besides that, all we would have to pick on then, is Greensman's Green! We'd lose our Red Stop Sign! LOL!!

All kidding aside, he's getting to be a pretty good Technician, and we could use that experience here at AD to help others, which is why he's here in the first place, to learn and to help others! He's doing a fine job at both!

When I was in my mid 20's, my thumb got blown off. My Wife was 7mons pregnant, had a little girl already 3yrs old, neither of us could work. I was receiving 35.00 a week workmans Comp, I applied for aide but was refused, reason being I was making enough to live on. Our rent was 90.00mon, Elec was around 50.00 back then, water about 10.00. Our Landlord let us slide on the rent for six mons, our friends 2 couples. Brought us over about 15.00 worth of groc a week each. If it had not been for all this help, I really don't know what would have happened.
Well anyway my wife delivered another girl for us. I couldn't work for about 6mons. When I finally got back to work it took over a year to repay all my Debts. My friends I repayed with favors, and continue to do so to this day (35yrs have past). I'm so proud that I have friends like this. Our landlord got 10,15,20bucks extra every mon til he was caught up...Things like this is not Charity, a proud man who is willing to help himself, should be humble enough to accept help from friends,& feel proud that he has friends like this. That come forward with assistance in a time of need. TRUE Friends are few and far between. I count 5 in my lifetime, I MEAN TRUE FRIENDS
I would be willing to contribute, if assistance is needed. Sometimes thing just workout, even for the wicked

    Greeny

The best bet is to setup a Paypal account or we could just find a local ISP. The problem is getting hold of Rob is he's already shut down.

He still has access but it's from his parents house or the library. ;) I'm not sure he knows the location of the nearest library tho.... hehehe. :p j/k RedRob. :D

I'll email him and see what he has decided to do. He has to find the local $10 internet deal tho.... I'm sure he has that ability. :D

i am totally Honored. I appreciate what you all have offered to do for me. i would be greatly appreciate what ever help you all would want to do, but i do have INTERNET on as of now. we have talked(the wife and i) we cant be without INTERNET. to much i can do on line to help with looking for a new job/career. just have to cut back on other non necessary stuff..lol good to know there is good people out there willing to help others.

TBH i don't know what to say.Thank you all who have offered to help me and my family out.as stated i do have the INTERNET back so there isn't truly a need to send anything. now i don't want that to offend anyone,or my pride getting in the way. man 23years with a job and now nothing.

it is great knowing there are/is people in the world that care about others and will help out in the time off need. thank you guys

sorry to have posted my bad luck i didn't mean to take this thread in the direction it went in and by no means did i mean to make it sound like i was asking for the help/attention that i have gotten(but do appreciate it)

cincyrob : Didn't your company have some sort or retirement plan setup 4U ? That long with a company you shoulda, coulda, woulda, had some sort of profit share, stock options buy 1 co gives 1. Maybe even something in the way of a Credit Union.
Any or all of these U are entitled to, plus unemployment.
I know when my Corporation went TITs Up, my wife and myself were entitled to 600.00 a wk ea., which helped a lot
I know this might sound a little personal, but it is intended to help U look at some options U might have overlooked..If U have savings use this instead of stocks or bonds that U might have. Stock,Bonds are not as easily replaceable, with today's economy

Just my 2cents worth!! I think cincyrob should set up his own Account with PayPal or what ever he deems fit, this is actually the best and only way it should be done.
Call me a little cynical: This is truly a proverb...You can fool some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, but not all the people all of the time
This is not intended to offend, or deny anybody's integrity or honesty. Its only intention is to be a fact in life
I'm willing to offer my help to the amount of, well that's personal between myself and cincyrob. I hope everybody understands that last sentence. Again not to offend

    @Rick:
im not offended in anyway. i understand completely what your saying. and mean by it...thats why i posted what i just did. i didnt mean for it to look like i was asking for a hand out cause im not in any means of the way. i was just posting that i might not be around as much or as often as i normally was ,and gave a reason why.that and only that was the purpose of that post. i will be editing it out

actually i do have a little 401k with them(they only put.25c towards)i havent been in it the whole time i was there cause i dont think its right for me to let a multi million dollar company to make money off of my money no matter how little it is,and then charge me to get at my money when needed...and thats a differenbt story in its self(politics not going there).
ive actually only been enroled in it for 14 months now so after the penalty i pay for takeing it wont be much there. enough to help out some.

I don't think that rick was implying anything about your circumstance. I think that he was being from old school and just wanted to be certain that any donations went straight to you.

Rick this does of course imply that greeny can't be trusted. Hmm! Green money, money's green. Nevermind.:{D

My remarks were not intended to imply that anybodies integrity was other then honest, but let me state this as a true fact. Their is a touch of larceny in every bodies heart. You are right I am old school, even the best of us have lied, cheated, and yes even maybe stolen in our life. Nothing big, but something. I'm a non religious man, but let he who is without any of these faults cast the first insult. I played hookie, I lied to my mom about playing doctor,, I stole a piece of candy,I lied to my wife when I was out with a friend that she did not approve of. I could go on & on
I am willing to help anybody who participates in this site, any way I can. Just to relay my appreciation to all here. I can't tell you how valuable all the assistance is that I've received here at AD. Not just advice either, their are a few that have put time and personal effort in helping me. Some even money, who they are and how they helped is purely personal. Unless posted and replied to in the post. This is my strongest (QUIRK) as it might be called. I feel financial assistance in any way it is given or taken is very personal, and nobodies business but the parties involved. If this offends anybody, well then I'm truly sorry (FOR THEM) OLD SCHOOL PHILOSOPHY. YES ! But very strong within me. I'm a 62 yr old dog, they say U can't teach an old dog new tricks. This is totally untrue. It should be you can't change an old dogs beliefs. Most of these things I learned B4 I was 12,so WOW 50yrs

I'm running Vista on my new Laptop and it's so nice.

I have Rocketdock installed(with autohide), with the bottom taskbar on autohide, so there are NO ICONS on my desktop. Then I have windows dreamscene which loops a video for my Desktop Wallpaper and a single analog clock smackdab in the middle of the screen.

I have to say, it's beautiful.

abuzar1..I tried Vista, and found it has change tremendously since it 1st came out. Faster more reliable, was even getting where I liked it.I think 32bit might have worked better for me then 64 seemed to drag, Anyway I ordered anothet 2gig of Corsair CM2X 1024-6400 to see if 64 bit will improve. I think I read that 64bit needs 4gig of mem. My only beef was it created a permission only on my external Seagate HDD, that carried over to XP on my other Computer. Some things I'm unable to Access (permission denied)& can't fix it noway nohow. Some of these are just txt files. I'm thinking I'll have to format this drive all over again. My last alternative will B to try a transfer wizard if it will work, or some sort of program that will transfer & fix this problem when my new terabyte HDD arrives some time this week. Some files are invoices that I hate to lose
