I could have sworn that the old 939 4400+ windsor had 2-1Mb of L2 cache. The original AM2 design was a dog as well. I remember the complaints very well, as it didn't perform as well as the socket 939s and had terrible memory bandwidth compared to the Intel C2D. I did upgrade the bios in OxiMoron and it did improve the memory bandwidth, but the AM2+ and the 780G chipset is definitely the better of the two!
    EDIT!
I'm sorry, I meant the Toledo Core! It had 2x1MB of L2 cache on the 4400+!

Did you notice what was written above the drive?
'RAM Disk' is not an installation procedure! LOL!! Good price and it will use less power, run cooler and make less noise than the comparable 7200.10 500/32 drive!

    Hehe, Seagate spokesman?
That is a cheap deal for a Seagate I'll admit. Hope you've got good cooling though, those big 7200.10s get pretty darn hot.

Well, all the S-ATA cables I've folded in the way you do it have broken within months. Of the tens of cables I've used without folding, only one has broken.

Hey, I said I read something about this a while ago, and I sure as heck don't remember where it was, but I did find this in a quick search:

You should also keep them away from power cables! They also shouldn't bundle them together!

I think what does it is repeatedly folding them, if you do it and leave them be it shouldn't be as much of an issue.

I do know from the Serial Printer days that you couldn't place them too close to power lines. I'm also sure that they have improved Sata cables a lot in the last couple of years, and made them heavier!

Programs shouldn't just crash like that. I'd run a full disk scan for errors. If you have recorded errors in computer management, chances are data corruption could have happened as well.

Have you by any chance refused upgrades for it, or are you running IE 7?

A little concerning, I'd take care of those before jumping to conclusions.

Hey Rob. What version of AVG is that? It looks like 7.1. 8.0.1 is far better. In fact I have the pay one (full Suite) as well, but I prefer the free version to it! Never had any problems with it!

I had problems yesterday with both Hotmail and FireFox. Both upgraded without my permission, and FireFox upgraded to the latest version of 2.0 and Hotmail would no longer allow me to use the Classic Hotmail I like. Hotmail blocked me from openimg my e-mails unless I clicked continued, which upgraded Hotmail, and then FireFox2 popped up a window and told me I could upgrade now or later. When I chose later, it popped up a message when I shut it down, that it would install the upgrade the next time I started FireFox. I tried to uninstall FireFox at that point, but it said I had to complete the upgrade first and then delete it. I eventually wound up upgrading FireFox, as I couldn't open things. none of my bookmarks would completely work Like I could open AD, but It wouldn't let me open any threads. I was eventually forced to upgrade to the latest versions of Hotmail and Firefox 3! I wasn't happy at all. Sneaky bastards just kept shutting off features (Some features may no longer work properly!) until both programs no longer did the job. Before that, things only worked in IE, which I can't stand. All that clicking and clacking and having to manually make each page open to full screen. So far everything is working fine! You can turn off Automatic Upgrades, but eventually you will have to comply or things just won't work, Blackmail, I call it!
