I used to have a Q6600 and I took it to 3.6 ghz but it required high volts(1.48).

This guy who is selling thee(he has like 20 quad cores sent me a PM.

Think I should go for it?

Yeah a decent upgrade from my last setup. Better video card(used to have an 8800GT) and double the ram with a better heatsink to boot.

Oh and I decided to go with the Tuniq tower and get a FM121 for it instead of the Xigmatek.

    abuzar1,
I've been very happy with the Corsair XMS and the Dominators. Check with the "Post your Nero cd/dvd speed quality scans here(2)" thread here on AD. those guys know their stuff when it comes to Optical drives. Optiarc 7200s and Lite-Ons seem to be the best!

    Best Regards,
    Russ

I'm going with the dominators. I will check one last time with GM, Rob and their lot for the DVD burner.

    It's deactivated :(

P.S. I need something to burn Xbox 360 games is all. I use Verbatim media only and I ALWAYS burn at 2.4x.

    boozer,

ya lost me. you were talking about Q6600's and said alright so I'm getting it, and then you put a X3220 in the build list. which are you going with?

the only samsung dvdrw drive I have any experience with is the slim drive in my laptop and it sucks. I don't think they (slim drives or half height's) are capable of bitsetting so that alone would detour me from them. I just retired my old litey for an optiarc 7200 that I bought off the GM and I like it so far.

Zoso, I will probably get the Pioneer.

Mort, I am going to use the Xeon. This build is not only upgrades but I'm also trying some different things. That's why the Asus board, the Xeon, the Tuniq Tower instead of the Xigmatek.

I'm off to sleep now. Catch you all laterz.

nothing wrong with that!! the tuniq is just a step below the TRUE and was the most used cpu hsf for benchy's and OC reviews prior to the TRUE hitting the market.

did you dl and read the manual for that mobo? not that you won't like it. I've seen a lot of the P5K's used around the web.

No I havent read the manual. lol

Who reads manuals? Only time I ever read mobo manuals was when I first built my computer and that was to connect the front ports. It's a pretty good board, I'm sure it will be just as good as the Gigabyte. And it has more heatsinks.

krj15489, get to addict! You're screwing up the page lol.
