    Rob,
You might try turning it to Auto and see what it does. It's got to be loud at that RPM!

    Thanks,
    Russ

Heres an updated Temp after Flipping cooler around as well as other alterations. Now I have all my good ODD's hooked up, and my IDE drive ran to an add-on card. Though it doesnt wanna boot off it. Which is fine I think. Its transfer speeds seem VERY sluggish!

Rob, think you got the wrong thread buddy. :)

that table that you have your HAF sitting on is it strong enough for it to sit on or would you say to sit it on something better?

The little table (if thats what you mean) was merely for the kodak moment, LOL. My desk is 100X stronger! It would easily support 10 or more HAF's. I love my desk :D 20$ as Value village to. QUITE the steal!

EDIT - i'll post my desk in a minute or so. Ive almost got it clean!

yes i was talking about the little table it was on so with that being said i take it that it would be to weak for the HAF to sit on all day every day.

The little table is meant for tv dinner trays, LOL. It served the purpose well though. Quick and easy. The case weighs an easy 45 pounds, so no. That table is EXTREMELY weak!

EDIT - Here it is! This desk is an easy 300 Pounds! Yes, alot of the discs you see are blank. However, dont get the wrong idea. Most are of different MID. I love to run experiments!

Exactly that model. Yes, I like it. Had to turn down the brightness, apparently like alot of samsung monitors. But thats good when you think about it. The function is there when you need it, and will last if you dont need it. The only negative I have is when I look down at it, it doesnt look right. But who cares about that angle anyways? When im facing it its wonderful! Wait til I post my next pic Buddy :D

Heres my first attempt at Dual monitors. I dont like having to turn down the Samsungs res. It looks OK, but...Im REALLY liking the 1920 res!!! Even with the samsungs brightness at 60%, it blows away the acer! I do like the acer though :) However, in a few months or so, i'd like to give this setup one more of the samsungs to make it look right :D That is if it doesnt become a scarce model!!!

There should be a way to set them so they can run independent resolutions. I believe it's called extended mode and can be found under the 'display settings' tab.

Ehhh...I wont be running this long anyway. The monitor may go to my sister. I was bored and curious. Never attempted it before, had to see it :D You could be correct. I recall seeing such a setting. Wouldnt that be harder on the vid card anyway? It would have to run dedicated calculations for each monitor.

well ive opend up the case, blew it out real good, then wnet into the BIOS. the cpu fan setting was set to auto. which lets the mobo control the fan speed. i changed it to enabled. which allows the speed be controled by the temp of the cpu at the time. so in the mean time it is still running at 1800rpms... and its not loud at all..

Changed up my list a little. LCD screen that is already being used with VGA only has a HDMI input and not a DVI so I found a motherboard on Combo with the processor suggested by Russ. Left the power supply the same only because I am not sure which one to get now that I have changed the motherboard. But I do have a question about the PSU. As this is my first build, the motherboard says 24pin but the PSU says that the 'Main Connector' is 20+4. Does it matter? All the 24pin PSUs were significantly more expensive for the manufacturers that were suggested to me by Russ. I already have a case and dvd-burner.

Do I need the thermal compound? Should I just use what comes with the processor or fan? Do I just need compound? or grease too?

    Here is the current list:

Every processor ive bought, came with its stock fan/heatsink. The heat sink has always came with a thermal compound already applied. Ive never had a prob with the stock compounds!

The 20+4 design is simply that. You can run either a 20 pin board with it, or connect the two and use it on a 24 pin board. Handy when connecting it to older boards!

I believe you bought the same cooler as I have. It comes with thermal compound already applied. Its good stuff!!! You dont need the Arctic 5

    dru3692,
I think you will be a lot happier with what you are now planning on getting! You can also upgrade to a Phenom II by just dropping in the CPU. The latest bios the MB ships with handles them with ease Should be a very nice rig. Best of luck with it!

You should be content with the PSU as well! Its a slightly lesser model than I have. Unusual! Im not seeing any difference other than wattage and price between our models!

Thanks! I figured that's how the 20+4 worked. Glad to have confirmation on that.
