LOL I'm using 1920 x 1200 and 1680 x 1050. So forgive me If some things I post ever stretch the screen for you. The lowest any of my monitors will go is 800 x 600, and 1024 is the second lowest res. It looks terrible on these beasts XD

Most notably is my sig. On my screens it's one image and 3 lines. It would be two if I didn't drop my specs link another line. But on 1024 res, it looks like a pic and 5 lines. That sure puts it in perspective XD

no i havent. i put them in to see if they fit. thats all.
i havent actually had it completely fired up yet.i still a GPU. when i get to work today i will see if my friend brought one in with him i just need something to see if the board and CPU are in working condition. if it is then i will get me a cheap GPU and some of the ddr2 533 mem and have fun with it.

Alright. This is what happened. My camera is setup for 1600 x 1200. I cut the image in half with photoshop. Its the best utility ive seen for resizing. By the way, photobucket was down.

I thought that 800 x 600 was an accepted limit. I have for quite some time. From now on...and I mean it this time, thumbnails for general discussions, and for threads like, "windows 7 screens", and "Desktop pics (NO flesh pics though)", I'll keep posting 1050 x 656. Because for those threads, its an accepted limit.

I apologize, it was late here. It didn't occur to me to use the thumbnail option. I guess I use photobucket more than anything LOL! It is now a thumbnail

800x600 is the limit we accepted in the graphics thread. Not sure if it's forum-wide yet though.

    Rob,
My bad! I missed that little part about the 533/400MHz. It may still run 800MHz though. The first GigaByte MB I bought, the 965P-DS3R supported 800MHz memory, but 1066 ran fine on it at 1066. Give them 800MHz puppies a try! It won't hurt the memory and will either work or not work!

    Best Regards,
    Russ

Cincy that board only takes two types of memory brother and
    DDR 1 Pin size 184
ddr 333 (PC 2700) or DDR 400 (PC 3200)there's 92 connector on each side of dimm slots as well as the memory stick...
if I had the board I would slap one or two these in it and be done:)
    Pin size 184

    Kingston

    or

    step up to some

    DDR II 240-Pin 533 (PC2 4200)

2 gigs maxs on both ddr and ddr2

i was looking at the memory specs of that board

    Will,
I have a question. Why buy a single 1GB DDR chip for $36, or a single 1GB DDR2/533 chip, when he can get a matched set of DDR2/533 (2x512) for $16, and run in dual channel mode to boot? Same amount of memory, but faster in Dual Channel! Especially when the cost difference is $1.50!

Also, just because the motherboard doesn't support 800MHz memory, doesn't mean it won't work! My 965P-DS3R only supported 800MHz memory, but ran 1066MHz memory at 1066 in dual channel, just fine!

    Rob,
I would try the Crucial you have now. It won't hurt the memory, but be sure to set the voltage according to the memory specs! If it doesn't work, so be it! At least you tried! LOL!!

    Best Regards,
    Russ

Well Russ he can just get 2gigs of DDR2/533 and just max the board out for less than $30 bucks

instead of 2x512 it can be 2x1 for less than $30 at dual channel mode by bad was'nt thinking of dual channel...I forgot all about it...I was thinking of just getting the board up and running...lol

    Will,
I was just staying within the amount he had posted! LOL!! If I was Rob, I would still try some 800MHz first. It should work fine. Like I told him, my 965P only supported 533/800MHz memory, but it had no problem running 1066 memory!

BTW! I'm looking for a 1GHz PIII, socket 370. the server motherboard won't run the 1.4GHz one I have. It does nothing when I put it in the MB. It could be dead, but I doubt it as it was still in the sealed plastic bag, that has Intel written all over it! The highest speed you can put in it is 1GHz. I have a 700MHz Coppermine in it right now, and it's faster than the 1GHz Slot 1 in the Dell! LOL!! Anybody with a 1GHz socket 370 P-III kicking around that they don't want, send me a PM please!

I pulled that POS HL-DT-ST DVD/Combo drive apart and cleaned the lens, and that seems to help, as it now plays my burned DVDs without problems. Amazingly it will run Power DVD 7! Usually on lesser computers like this one I have to install Power DVD 5 or 6, but 7 works fine with this MB! I'm going to sell the Dell 420 Workstation and keep this one as our backup computer. Cost was $0, so all it took was a little time! It was fun too. Felt like I took a step back in time! LOL!! It does run better than I expected it to!

    Best Regards,
    Russ

For ref, HL-DT-ST is Hitachi-LG Data Storage, usually shows up with LG DVD drives.

    Sam,
Whatever it is, it's a POS! eMachines were smart to go to conventional Lite-On drives! I doubt that this drive was used more than a dozen times since it was new, as it was used to run the Cash Register. Pure Junk!

Because every one i have ever come across barely plays original DVDs and CDs. Most of the time they won't play burned DVDs or even most burned CDs! I've replaced over a dozen of this model for the same reason! I also took this one apart, and the quality is poor!

Fair enough. Like I say, never had any problems with LG drives of any age.
