Not at all, as long as you're conservative, +0.1V is fine.

mmm...Russ was you quoting me my friend...i think you sliped and thought is was Rob...I'm the one that's trying out vista ultimate...lol only problem i having so far is with(peer guardian)
I'm having this issue with it
    http://filesharefreak.com/2008/04/01/peerguardian-ip-blocking-for-windows-vista/

i've tryed to do what they suggested but it seem not to work for me so that right may turn me away from it all together of using it unless I can come up with a way of getting peer guardian to work...

    Hey bigwill,
Yeah, I boobed. I guess I was tired. The Photo group kind of overwhelmed me! I changed the post!

    Best Regards,
    Russ

    P.S.
You know my feelings on Vista! I'm still loving this 64 bit XP-Pro. It runs everything real nice!

Will: You can try win7 for free, I think the RC is still open - all you need is a windows live account (such as a hotmail email account)
It's funny about the CPU prices - I too can relate, though perhaps a little further back, my Q9550 is the most I've paid for a CPU (I imported it from the US because back then it was the only way to get an E0 stepping) but only just, it cost about £20 more than my X2 4200+ did in June 2006.

oh this bad boy is smokin fast at 3.61gb. i can add plenty of vcore to it still to get more out of it, but i think my mem might be holding me back now, if i try to take it higher. ddr2 800 just isnt gonna cut it. i have it running at 850mhz now i might be able to get thsi crucial stuff to run at 900mhz but not gonna push it..lol i can put in the mushkin mem that i got back and i know that will run at 1066 but am waitng on the new mobo.

Yep, saw that and drooled. But i can cope with my lowly Q6600 performance as i don't backup my DVD's a fraction as much as i used to :)

800mhz is a limiting factor above 3.4Ghz, so to reach 3.61 is reasonably good.

I love the shiny board and RAM and the reasonable cooler with the 1980s looking graphics card :p - with one PCIe slot filled and a P45 chipset you should see a pretty good FSB out of that chip. Right now I'm happy to stick with 3.65 - 3.8 requires a hefty NB voltage that I can't sustain for long.

The GTS250 is quite powerful, but pricey for what it is. HD4850s can be had for $100, HD4870s for $130 ($120 after rebate in some cases) - for the money I'd definitely take the HD4870, if you wanted to save a bit you could get the 4850.
The E8600 is still the same price because nothing has bettered it. Until it has competition, there's no reason for its price to be lowered. If I had to upgrade I think I'd set my sights on getting a QX9650 off ebay. They're only C1, but with an 11x multiplier you can have it at 4.4Ghz with bone stock settings on your motherboard!

I've yet to see an unreliable cooler (apart from perhaps liquid nitrogen...haha) but I know what you meant. I'm well aware the card is modern, it wouldn't fit a PCI express slot otherwise, but still, it is chalk and cheese compared to the rest of the build :)

Well folks, it seems that Gigabyte is going to replace my 790GP-UD4H with a 790X-UD4P, just like I requested. I lose the On Board Graphics, but gain a couple of Sata ports and a few other goodies. I'll have to wait on them getting their next shipment, but it's still working aside from the video problems that happen with the PCI-e card and the On board. I can live with that for the next week or two! I'm happy!
