    lol

I built this lady a gaming computer some while back. She emailed me today saying her friend wanted a Skulltrail computer with some specific parts. I speced it out and told her I would charge her 6700 dollars for the PC.

LOL What a waste. You can build a MUCH faster PC than that for under 2 grand. I told her that too. While I make more money on the Skulltrail system, I would hate to see somebody waste that much money.

    Soph,

You're right... NO reason to doubt. ;)

This is the case that I use. link to RC-690.

Here is the weather on the days that I took the "screenies". July 13th and 30th of this year!! link to weather report

I have a window unit in the Living Room (where the computer is) and we keep it on 75 most of the time. 74 if I'm desperate for cooling. lol. :p

Take a look at that case and it's features. I like it and it does a pretty good job of holding some goodies and air flow is ample AFAIK with the fans that I have installed. I added fans as I saw fit and it seems that with MOST of the fans installed the case does well with air flow. I would LOVE to install water cooling and then add the "better" heatsinks but I'm saving up for that DFI mobo atm for the Q6600 rig, you know the one with the POS Striker... LOL... j/k morty.. :p NOT to start another ASUS bash but that silly nvidia chipset seems to cause so much trouble with things. hmmmmmmmmmm....

btw I don't have a fan installed in the upper vent or the lower vent... I can't in the upper and the lower didn't change any thing as far as temps. :)

    boozer,
$6700 for a computer is VERY wasteful!!! I would think that you could do something for about $3000 (with your profits) and MAKE one HECK of a computer. :)

I know and I told her that. Skulltrail is USELESS. People have a hard enough time using all four cores, much less eight! Let's see what she decided. If in the end she DOES want a Skulltrail, obviously I will build it.

My newest build cost me 800. The parts should be here by tomorrow.

    Let the build commence!!! :)

Well list the parts you tease!! I'm not going thru 100's of posts to figure out what you decided to build!! :p

It would make a decent server and with the two Zalman's in the photo below it kind of looks like the eye sensors of a cheesy robot in a movie I saw years ago.

If you want a server, get a server.

This person wanted it as a gaming PC.

Sophocles, actually those Zalmans look like the fans off airboats or r/c hovercraft.

    Sophocles,
Isn't Methane (Cow Farts) a Pollutant? now if you could just get a pipe from the Cow to the Engine, without pissing off the Cow! LOL!!

Ugghhh, Asus did a HORRIBLE job with the NB heatsink on the P5k pro. Only half the die was on the actually heatsink itself, the other half was on the little padding on the heatsink!

I love when you take sinks like that off and find virtually half a pint of thermal paste...

i have already said, THEY CHEAP OUT ON THE NB TIM!!!!

i mean a 10C (load) drop with OCZ freeze (8 idle) just told me how sh!t the original TIM was.

Man, it's not just the TIM!

Half the die was in contact with the black padding that is supposed to go AROUND the die no on it ITSELF!!!
