TRIM is really handy, I agree, but SSDs aren't useless without it. I will monitor very carefully the next firmware update and if it's sure to be safe, I'll go for it.
As for the Asus BIOSes, it was a deliberately provocative comment just for a laugh, I'll remove it if you like.

Nice board pick Cincy. I might have gotten one if P45 supported X16 Crossfire. Found my X38 at a smash deal though.

    Will,
Just be sure to install it before you put the Driver Disk in. It has to be installed before the sound drivers on the disk, or it won't work. The way these driver disks work automatically these days, it's just best to put the disk in after installing the UAA.

    Best Regards,
    Russ

Or just get the latest version from the website. Maybe they have a certain package that includes it? Though I think the UAA is only available on the CD. I dunno last time I had to deal with it was on my LANBox when I tried an Audigy SE and had a driver conflict(my fault). The UAA was screwed up until I downloaded a special file from Microsoft that I think was only available after I made an error report on the Microsoft site. A customer service rep sent me a link to the files. Wish I would have kept it as it isn't normally accessible through the MS file archive.

    Estuansis,
Don't sweat it. I sent will both the 32 bit and 64 bit UAA Patch in an email attachment. I've used both and they work. If anyone ever needs them just let me know! I have them saved in a folder in my software files.

    Best Regards,
    Russ
