    I plugged it in ♥

Before I was averaging 10.2 MB/second. Read or write. Coming FROM the secondary, the speed is limited to the 5000AAKB drives max read speed as seen here. When I send to the 74Gb raptor(on the same secondary), I should see at least 60-70 if memory serves :) Very content now. It will take significantly less time now, to transfer MKV's and M2TS files :D

hey guys my boss wants me to build him a computer. Im thinking about selling him my Intel Q9550 and my Asus P5Q Pro mobo, and upgrading my Comp to maybe a I5 or I7. what processor and Mobo combo do you guy's recommend to upgrade to? I have a CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V PSU will that be sufficient?

Depending on your system, that 750W PSU could be overkill. YES, that PSU is WAYYY sufficient LOL!
I'm afraid I can't comment on the Intel side of things :p Never owned one...

Guess I was due for some bad luck. I think the stuttering in my system could be worse then I suspected. I plugged a usb flash drive in, while printing, and I believe that by doing that, the association process seemed to stop/error out the printer. The USB port in front is off of the header, and the printer is directly on the board. Could I have a south bridge issue here? Sometimes when loading files, it will hang for a few seconds, then be fine as well. This flash drive generally always hangs too on THIS system. But it doesn't on others. Seems to only be the 16Gb kingston drive though. Very curious...

Hearing all those bad things about sata 3 isn't good, I was going to use them for my main hdds lol. Turns the 8 pin power cable on my psu is a bit to short so I'm waiting for an extension before I can get the new rig up and running. This is the first time newegg's ever been this slow to ship something, quite irritating. Plus I'm anxious to see if I finally found a way to apply TIM lol.

Unless you plan on using quad-gpu's, or maybe just two of the GTX480's lol, your psu should be plenty. I can't really recommend anything, but after making the same decision myself I ended up with an i7 930 (200$) and a Gigabyte UD3R (200$).

Think I'm gonna run Memtest. Wondering if the problem could be there. Memory can do some strange things sometimes LOL!

Hi Guys, Russ I just got back from surgery and everything turned out OK, now I have a couple of questions plus need some help, reading as you guys talked about having problems when re-installing your OS's and running into problems with your secondary hardrives got me thinking, so to make sure I get this straight here is my question.

I installed not to long ago a secondary internal hardrive in my HP PC, with Russ'a guidance it turned out to be a brezze, of course both are sata drives, now if I ever need to re-install my OS would it be smart to disconnect my secondary drive before I do so, cause it sounds like I will run into problems if I don't.

Now for my help question, it is off topic but my trust lies with people on this thread as I know most of you and know I can get proper help or at least guide me to a forum that can.

I just bought a new webcam from the net, after some good research I decided to go with this one,

    http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-H5D-00001-LifeCam-Cinema/dp/B002MCZJ78/ref=cm_cr_pr_pb_t

Now this cam as I connected it works great, the picture is phenomenal, as is the widescreen which is a really nice feature, viewing myself works just fine, however trying to use it for video chats it just doesn't work, other words I can always see myself but others cannot, and it has drove me crazy for the past several days.

I tried to get ahold of microsoft help or support and there is none, the only help they offer on the box is www.microsft.com/hardware and that pretty much gets you no where, they ask for a product number which in my case there is none, they give me a S/N a Model number, Lot number but no product number, and trying to use any of the numbers I have do not work.

Than trying to get ahold of tech support it's a real joke, first good luck trying to fins anykind of support without them asking for your credit card number first, and thier is no way of getting any kind of support from them, not that I know of any anyway, and what gets my goat is this thing is not even 3 days old and I can't get anykind of help from them, it's either find out the problem on your own or pay them, I have never heard of anybody dumping a customer like that, even from the worst sales outlets you can at least recieve e-mail support which those are a pain in the ass but it beats a blank, as in this case you get nothing.

I'm at my wits end here, I love how this camera works and it's neat features, but to be left stranded without any kind of support is a farce. Is there anybody here that can recommend something or at least guide me to an AD thread somewhere where there might be people that know about these things, help would be greatly appreciated.

Well... looks like I'll be looking for an updated memtest tonight. I had errors, but it's not acknowledging my system properly either. It thinks I have an athlon 64, and that the memory is running at 567Mhz, when it is in fact running at 800Mhz dual channel(8,8,8,24).
OH! Windows doesn't think so. Looks like its actually running at 669Mhz now. Somethings definitely going on here. I'm certain I had it running at the rated 1600Mhz(800 per channel)!

Omega: 54MB/s read speed is a bit low, even for an IDE drive. One of the 16MB cache WD10EACS drives in my server is managing an impressive 90MB/s write speed!
Proxpilot: 750W PSU is ample for pretty much any system, no worries there! As for CPU and board, depends on the intended use of the system. Given that you're currently using a P5Q Pro, maybe an i5 750 and a Gigabyte P55A-UD4. Should be ample, it's what I use. Remember, you also need to include DDR3 memory in this upgrade as i5/i7s don't take the DDR2 you'll currently be using.
Omega: USB issues with front ports? Try the rears. All Coolermaster cases ship with dodgy USB wiring that can affect certain devices. It's generally recommended not to use front USBs with any coolermaster case. Ultimately though, it sounds like you could do with a fresh reinstall of windows to make sure!
Maw: $200 for an i7 930? Are you sure?
Fred: Unfortunately I don't have any expertise to offer here as I don't use webcams. All I can suggest is to make sure the program you're using for video calls properly supports HD webcams like yours, that you have the latest drivers and if necessary, try another program to use :S

Yup, that's what made me get one lol. Got it from Microcenter on Saturday for 230$, and then my friend tells me on Monday they dropped the price to 200$ so I called up the store and they agreed to refund me 30$ :) The cpu hadn't been touched yet so if I had to I could've gone back to the store, returned it and repurchased lol.

I upgraded from a Q9550 to an i5 750 for games performance, and it is a sizeable upgrade with an overclock. If you're not willing to overclock you won't get much out of it though, 20% at best.

Thanks for the comback Sammy, actually I did get help for one of your suggestions, Russ helped me find an upgrade download for this camera, cause the disc that came with it nothing worked, after Russ's upgrade link the download was finally completed, everything worked fine except for other people viewing me, I'm still hoping somebody out here knows of people that are experts on this subject, I was hoping there would be some addicts out there on AD that are up on this subject, cause I cannot figure this out, of course microsoft is a joke as far as help and even googling I've gotten know where.

Certainly, there are plenty of people here who can help with overclocking, it's not that difficult, especially not on an i5 :p

    Oman7,
Try adding a little voltage to the SB and see what that does!

Couldn't take it and just ran the cable where I didn't want to for now (extension won't be here till Monday) so she's up and running for now. Everything looks good except the temps, idle is 36, 32, 35, 28 and max is 61, 58, 57, 53*. Looks like I did a bad job applying the thermal paste as usual, although if I can handle not OCing that's probably good enough (not that a reseat is likely to make things better lol).
Do some benching after windows is reinstalled.

*for a high end air cooler I think temps should be lower at stock.

Which cooler is this? You should really be seeing idle temps in the low 30s, high 20s for a 120mm tower cooler on a 95W CPU in a normal room temperature environment. I don't know what conditions are for you though.
