I've used up all the letters in the Alphabet. Is their a way to add more Drive Letters to Win XP ? Such as useing dbbl letters or letter and number, etc.

It seems like I remember XP giving the option for numbers, but windows 7 doesn't seem to be giving that option. Unless I'm mistaken :S

I've never heard of the idea of using numbers. As far as I can tell, when you run out of letters, you have to map drives as folders instead.

How would that help? They still require drive letters...

Maybe flash drives open up a whole new line of code? Which allow numbers. I SWEAR I remember seeing number options somewhere...

Yeah ever since afterdawn moved to the v4 interface the forum system is bugged. The first new post on a page will not display, and following a link to it will just divert to the first page of the thread, until a second reply is posted, when the new page will be created, along with the new post.

Yup, needs to be 100 pixels tall, not 140. I don't wish to sound rude, but I don't understand how it's so difficult to check the rules before posting a new signature...

    Deadrum,
Most motherboards start out with the default voltage set for 1.8v, which will usually allow you to boot the computer with a single stick, but doesn't work too well with two sticks. My 1066 2x2GB Dominators run at 2.1v, and barely get warm.

    Deadrum33,
I think a lot of them are set that way. I check my voltage and it's stability with Everest and the PC Health in the Setup. I guess for someone with 1.85v memory, this could be a good thing, but the Red is meaningless to you and I with our 2.1v memory, It has no effect on the running of the computer, and changes nothing in the setup to compensate for the higher voltage.

So a recent build of mine wouldnt boot after a few weeks of running fine, giving me corrupt file and checksum errors.
All signs and almighty google pointed to RAM errors which upset me because i am using 2x1GB DDR2 corsair dominator 1066 and havent had an issue in about 28 sticks used. I checked 1 stick and everything started fine.
Replaced the 1st stick with the other to prove the failure but it also worked. I looked at memory settings in BIOS and realized I had low voltage so I upped it closer to rated speed and put both sticks in since both worked singularly.
I guess either low voltage let me run for awhile but wasnt stable, or I didnt have things totally seated properly and reseating fixed the issue. Anyway things work, and all you noobs out there dont make my mistakes blah blah blah...
