Something I've learned : Listen to the person who is helping you, do exactly as they instruct step by step..Do not try and get ahead of that person, if you do then your both lost.. Take any thing you've learned by following instructions, at a later date you can play with it and possibly find or make improvements..
The simplest of programs can be difficult, if you don't follow instructions

My FALS drives aren't incredibly loud. The FUJITSU drive (Xbox 5400Rpm drive) I attempted to back up yesterday made some rather loud noises yesterday. And then there were well over 3,000 reallocated sectors. And it stopped be acknowledged by the PC. I gave up at that point ;) I hadn't heard a drive like that since the seagate drive...

Since I know nothing about surge protectors I thought I'd ask before buying. On Newegg this belkin BE112234-10 was the best I could find although I can't tell if it's what I'm looking for. What I want is one that operates like a breaker as a opposed to a using a fuse since I'm assuming they're better....but if I'm wrong please tell me lol.

    Thanks,

    Red_Maw,
Circuit breakers are generally too slow to react. Surge protectors use a special fast blowing fuse. If you use an ordinary glass Buss Fuse, it may well shatter the glass. A fuse is a much better design for surge protection than a circuit breaker.

Aight Guys Review Time Corsair done came out with a new Mid Tower case.I don't know if ya'll heard or not due to Release:09/23/2010. I fill the Price is kinda High on what it has to offer at $159.99 Corsair only has 3 cases under there belt that they built and the ideals are coming from other competitors as they start out higher Priced,They should have started out lower priced with mid towers and worked there way up,It would have made easy for some people to buy it's like they thought of rich people first instead of the poor. The 3 case they have start at $159 to $219.I don't think they started out right in pricing and the your paying for the name Corsair atlease Cooler Master did'nt start that way.I wreather buy the HAF 922 for $89.99 who cares about adjusting power supply brackets and removable hard drive bays 3 at a time that's meanless...it has No side panel Cooling Or View or Removable motherboard tray and a top cheesy fan control knob,Bill said for 4 fans but where's the fourth Go? you got me

    compare the 2

The Corsair cases are very overpriced, but they are built to a far higher standard than coolermaster cases, Lian-Li style.

it's not about the standards these days with the way the economy is here in the states and higher standard you say it's just based on a Name there name and other competitors ideals stoled copie cats and styles do changes and you have a cooler master case yourself...

You can't just say people don't buy expensive cases because of the economy, not true, or companies wouldn't still be producing them.
If you're giving coolermaster all the innovation credit for modern PC cases you must be having a laugh, half the time their designs are clones of others.
My point is, coolermaster cases are good value, and built to a mediocre standard. You can get more expensive cases that aren't as good value, but built a lot better.

I'm very happy with my HAF932, but I sometimes wish such a great design wasn't let down by relatively poor build quality.

Not saying that they could have started out with lower prices on there product cases and more models to choose from they started out wrong you should start low then work your way up and they just started making cases anyway,I believe there one of the last case makers in the game also with Only 3 made to there name so would'en they be last to Clone designes in that market?

to answer that first one expensive cases that's by name what your paying for Name not Quality that's like buying a Lexus and your really getting a Toyota you'll pay more for the lexus parts than the Toyota parts just because it has the name Lexus stamped on the outside and Toyota on the inside even on the windows even Scion got Toyota written on them these days. I thinks. I can just buy a toyota and just put the lexus emblems on it instead and save alittle money and in the same way you can do a computer case...

anyway Sam it depends on the metal material they wanna used to build these cases. I just bought and sold a $20 gigabyte case not to long ago and it felt like it was made out of reynolds wrap material thin cheap and Gigabyte had there name all over it that' matters it's is what it's made of how it's made and what suits you and your taste,The point is Corsair started off wrong in my opinion in the production in there cases in the Price ranges and design and more to choose from they started out in a full tower first of all alot of people are not into full just mids so can we see the sales reviews between the both styles of case sizes.I don't thinks there's No way of finding out among the companies that build who's out selling who...and another thing not all Cooler Master cases relatively poor built quality even your 932 is made of Steel just like Corsair 600T is and even the Haf 922 little brother,O my bad my CM 690 II Basic is steel to with a painted black inside like the 600T your paying for all the extra stuff you really don't need in that 600T and that's fact and what's wrong with a Basic case anyway and good steel build one with good air flow. I only buy my cases for Good Air Flow anyway heat starts in one direction up unless you direct other wise with venting...

Corsair are indeed one of the latest to join the case race, but their designs are, as far as I can see, largely unique. The all-black interiors throughout is a nice touch, they have interesting cooling configs, and should be pretty quiet.

That's not true at all. Lexus, Scion and Toyota are the same company. You buy any of the three brands, it's built by Toyota.
This is the same as companies like Acase/Apevia/Aspire. This is not the same as Corsair, as Corsair do not produce cases under any other brand. The analogy is simply completely false.

Not having owned a premium case, perhaps you won't understand, but if you see a properly built case in the flesh like a Lian-Li or a Corsair, you'll realise just how cheaply made coolermaster cases are.

Corsair are a premium brand, throughout. They don't produce cheap tacky memory, they don't produce cheap tacky coolers, they don't produce cheap tacky PSUs, they don't produce cheap tacky cases. People looking for something cheap to get them buy don't buy from Corsair, that's not what the company's about. Remember how Corsair function at a company.
Corsair's lack of variety is because they haven't even been in the business a year yet, they've produced three good cases so far, they'll undoubtedly produce several more in the future.

Yea at Lower prices They bein money hungry out the box Y create your first case at over $200 dollars and your 3rd at $159 alot of people my like the look but can't afford a cadillac for there first car my only gripe they started off wrong in case construction it should have been alot more mid towers built first and pricing lower what you telling me is you would spend over $200 for a Case for a full tower. That's Crazy Dude Go ahead Big Dollar. I wreather spend more for what's under the hood...That's what counts anyway!

and. I know Lexus,Scion and Toyota are the same but you pay more For the Lexus cause of the name Lexus is Toyota's Cadillac but did you know Ford brought Mazda and Jaguar? I think.i've been on this earth longer that you Sam by far...you may have me in the computer aspect but you won't have me in the car one...Lol I've been driving b4 you was born...Lol

I know the prices are higher but Corsair simply make a higher quality case, period. They are way better engineered and use better materials. Cooler Master is for sure a maker of good cases. I know I love my HAF :D It just so happens that Corsair is even better because their whole point is kick ass quality.

honestly will, you have to see the build quality of corsairs and lian-li's up close and personal. They are a spectacle, and i don't regret spending near £200 on mine (inc mods) as two years later and its still in use. Bar my ram and monitor, no other component has stayed. Yes for a while my brotther had the case, but that was due to semantics, or i would still have had it. Remember cases are nornally what survive 2-3 major upgrades, they can last years, so why not spend extra in the first place?

Well Will, that's unfortunate, but it's not really fair criticism. If you're just bawling about not being able to afford hardware you want I don't really have much sympathy, it's not going to be particularly easy for me this year, I don't even have a job.
Also Will, you won't have me at the car debate either. Ford have sold Jaguar to Tata of India.
My family work repairing cars and have done for more than 30 years. I know plenty about that area too. Sorry mate, you're not going to lord that one over me either.

    Sam,
No, they aren't very cost effective, but they are more reliable it seems, than larger drives. And they do store about 100 DVD movies!

Even the "Enterprise Class" Western Digital RE4 WD2003FYYS 2TB drive that costs almost $300 currently shows about a 40% failure rate. The most reliable large drives at the moment seem to be manufactured by Samsung, the EcoGreen F2 HD103SI 1TB, and the EcoGreen F2 HD154UI 1.5TB! both have a much lower rate of failure than almost all the WDs do. Samsung's F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM drive seems to be far more reliable than anything from WD, with the exception of the WD Caviar Green WD10EADS 1TB drive. Judging by the reviews and the failure rates, either of these two drives would seem to be your best bet for long term mass storage. Based on the failure rates, I wouldn't recommend any 2TB drive at the moment. The largest I would consider buying would be the 1.5TB Samsung listed above.

While I don't like the reviews I'm seeing on the WD20EARS, I won't pass judgment. I don't know the people that submitted those reviews, nor their intelligence. You just can't tell about people online. Take me for example. You'd never guess what type of person I am. You won't...

I have to see this for myself, so I can put this to rest. 119.99 for a 2Tb drive is a steal. Newegg has been very good with how my drives are packaged. And Western digital has been very good about RMA'ing a bad V-Raptor. If the drive is DOA, or becomes defective, I have no doubt, that a replacement or refund will be quick to follow ;) I sincerely hope that WD is not turning out like Asus though. That would be a dark time in the PC world for sure :( If not WD, who the heck do we turn to? Me, I crawl into a hole and die LOL!

    Oman7,
I think that DOA, or failed after a month are pretty self explanatory, so I don't think you have to know anything about the people reporting these failures. After all, DOA is not a technical term! It simply means that it was dead when the person got it! That plus the fact that most non enthusiasts don't buy 1 or 2 TB drives in the first place, so the knowledge level is usually fairly high to begin with!

I would choose any one of these! Since the Fals 1TB is back in stock, I will put that at the top of the list. Probably the best of the 4 listed, but not by that wide of a margin. Depending on price, I would probably opt for the FALS. Either that or the 1.5TB Sammy!

    Samsung 1TB
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152185
    Samsung 1.5TB
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152175

While Newegg and WD have great RMA service, I would rather avoid any RMA at all, and not suffer the data loss!

At the present time if I was looking for a 2TB drive! It would be this samsung!
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152202
With a decent enough (281) sampling, the RMA Rate is very low. The number of samples isn't always necessary to show a pattern. There's a WD there that only had 10 samples, yet 50% said that it was excellent, 10% said it was Average, but Poor and Very Poor accounted for 40% of the total! I would wait before buying to see if those numbers improved. At the present time, nothing comes close to the 2TB Sammy! 70% said it was excellent, 11% said it was good, 2% said it was poor, and 12% said it was very poor. I also noted that Samsung was very good at solving the problem the first time. I see that some other brands were replaced multiple times, which don't affect the numbers for the ratings, but I don't want to have to go through 3 drives, or even 2 to get a good one.

The bottom line is the Sammy costs $129.99, and with it's track record, if I was in the market for a 2TB drive, I would certainly give it a lot of consideration. If it was right now, I would probably buy one!

    Best Regards,
    Russ

Not really Russ, because the EARS drives use 4k sectors, so won't work the same way as normal drives. I'm willing to bet lots of the people that say they were DOA, they actually weren't, they just didn't understand how to use them.
