If you liked ASUS ROM's and don't want to buy from them now look at Pioneer as most ASUS ROM's are really pioneer drives they have re-firmwared. ASUS used to be good stuff to bad their customer support has gone to the way-side.

Being the owner of a case with a very large window, I find myself putting effort into my internals. My cabling is immaculate and all components are color matched to some degree. I like to have a show quality PC :)

cabling should be the first thing on someones list for a case IMO. The neater the better.

What have I been saying for years?

    Some companies never change.

Omega: those acrylic cases are pretty naff. They have no structural rigidity without a metal frame behind them so they're weak and can't hold too much weight, they have no heat transmission properties or many fan mounts so they're awful for cooling, they look pretty awful once you put components in them because you see the reverse side of the PCB and can't hide any cables away, and they're usually pretty tacky quality as well.

OK I'll byte :) You’re crazy! But seriously I'd have to agree with Sam on this one, plus you would have to hide it in a closet or else it would burn your eye balls out. The 9 external bays would be great for hot swap modules but again that would really add weight and stress to the enclosure.
    LOL...

Is there some unanimous hate for cubes here or is it just the price? IMO they're functionally superior to any other case design I've seen.

Cube cases as far as I've seen and worked with are very small cube type cases which are really only good for a few things like a Media Center box for your TV. Acrylic cases aren't cubes and like Sam said are not very good even if you think they look cool, I don't think they do.

So I guess your speaking another language because I'm not following you.

    Here is a cube case:

now mountain mods cases are the shnizzle.

just do your self a favour, get sams server case, he uses it like no one else and its been fine.

or if you want a top end case, silver stone, lian li or corsair.

LOL! You guys crack me up. To each his/her own, right? I happen to like any and all black light reactive stuff. I could probably rig it to light that way only on occasion(unless it already does have a switch), and as for the transparency, I happen to like seeing the inner workings of stuff. Tacky? perhaps :p I'd probably position it in such a way, that it wouldn't be too bad anyway. ~$80 isn't too bad to play with a new toy. At least with a tax return :S

And now to check out mountainmods :D I've seen a few of their cases before. Outstanding!

It will be a cheap way to learn a good lesson. Load it with tons of 20G drives in removable bays and go to move it all loaded up, just to find the case came apart on you. Good idea.... LOL

You may want to get some dark sun glasses and maybe some ultraviolet blocking tan lotion. :p

You really think it would collapse under serious weight?

Absolutely! If you load it up and move it around much it could come apart at the seams. They do a pretty good job at welding the seams together but fully loaded with swap bays a couple of good video cards and you could have problems. If you careful I'm sure you would be fine but you wouldn't want much lean force loaded up.

Also turn off your ceiling fan if you intend to raise it above your chest. :)

Sam is truly correct about heat as the acrylic will not sink heat as it is more of an insulator so heat could be a big issue especially loaded with less airflow. So that is something to think about too.

With proper fans, Surely cooling wouldn't be TOO much an issue.

Believe me, I will not make that mistake again LOL!

Ha ha! I was looking at that Mobo on newegg recently. Impressive to say the least!

A server type board aimed at work stations and gamers, very nice I haven't seen that one before.

The better swap bays also have fans in them and that would help to if you chose that path.

For epic storage space you might want to consider a Nexus Edge (if you can find one) - it's basically a carbon copy of the NZXT Whisper but is taller, so can fit more 5.25" bays (8 vs 6). It also has a top fan mount for slightly better cooling, and the lower fan for the hard disks is single 140 instead of dual 80. It's not exactly a great looker, but for function over form, it's about as good as you'll get without spending crazy amounts on a mountain mod cube :)

Got a question! Has anybody been getting emails from their contacts that appears to have been sent by a third party, but your contact's email address is where it tells you it's coming from. At first all of these were No Subject. They've apparently learned that people throw away emails like that because I don't usually open any no subject emails from anybody. I'm just concerned for the day that even if you open it to see what the file is, it could activate and load you up with malware. Good Old Micro$oft has known about it for a while, but has no answer yet. Tell me that isn't weird!

Whoever is doing this is learning and now no longer sends them as No Subject. I just dumped 7 of them, 3 supposedly from Rick, 2 from Fred, 1 from ZosoIV and 1 from Omegaman7 about a dead snake! All had malware in them! The real strange thing is with most of them a copy is sent back to the person that originally sent you the email. I have noticed that it hasn't affected gmail yet, but I don't use it that often because it's a PITA to use, and has far less capabilities than Hotmail or Yahoo!

Micro$oft is such a wonderful company to deal with. They wouldn't allow me to send more than 6 legitimate emails to Europe at a time, but some D*ckhead can send out thousands of these emails, full of Trojans, Malware and Viruses. Do you see a wave of new Malware and Trojan removers coming out in the near future? All promoted heavily by Micro$oft! Generating revenue to help get the economy back on track? Jesus! I sound just like one of those Damn Conspiracy Theorists!

It's no microsoft conspiracy, it's nothing to do with them, it's a botnet that's infected your friends' computers, massmailing everyone and pretending to be them. I had one once, only found out when my ISP cut me off when they detected my IP sending out masses of data to various IPs on port 25.
