Epson has "7" drivers on their site. You shouldn't have any trouble. I don't know about 32bit, but 64 bit runs really well :p

Thanks for linking me the Thermal paste/adhesive Russ. I've heard of the stuff before, but seemed to have spaced it :S I realize that it's permanent stuff ;) With this board, that would be just fine. Provided I applied the tim right the first time.

Apparently I'm definitely gonna need a fan, before It goes back to the entertainment stand. 15 minutes in to a Raw M2TS Bd file, and the temperature of Northbridge has climbed to 49-50C. If it makes through the entire movie, without crashing, a fan will give me a little more comfort. It's almost tempting to still give up on the board though. If the chip is inevitably gonna heat up, I don't wanna waste my time, or risk putting a potential hazard in their living room ;)

Apparently speedfan cannot detect that sensor, when onboard video is disabled. Good a guess as any. Everest however can :p

The darn thing still overheated! I've discovered that when the panel is on, airflow for the northbridge is significantly compromised. Mainly due to the GPU right next to it. Unfortunate. And the PSU's airflow isn't nearly strong enough to vent the entire case. The HTPC's airflow has just unimpressed me LOL! I don't think the NB even needs a fan. What I need is airflow exhausting out by the CPU. Enough exhaust there, will dramatically reduce the NB temperature. I can feel it LOL!

I still have problems installing networked printers on win7 64bit but direct connections via usb seem to work fine.

Yet another crash. This time I had a very powerful exhaust fan next to the CPU. I think my efforts may be in vain...
It's become apparent, that the chip inherently over heats :( Unless I constantly spray it with super cold air from an air can. I'm very close to tossing the board.

Something i just stumbled on to try ~ How to Synchronize Your XBMC Media Center Between Every Room in the House

I've used XBMC on xboxes (old type) and PC's for about 3yrs now, and it's great, but am amazed to see that someone has done some MySQL tweakery to allow XBMC syncing. Will be trying this out sometime in the week..

Robocopy syntax i've been using in case anyone finds a use for it ~

    robocopy K:\ L:\ /E /Z /COPY:DAT /XN /XO /V

~ copies all from K: to L: and ignores existing files. It's a great time saver (only about 600GB to go!)

Omega: Are you sure the overheating has anything to do with the crashes? It may simply be an unrelated problem.

I don't understand, why can't you just monitor the temperature of the chipset to determine if it's an overheating issue?

I have been. The northbridge is definitely overheating. But every effort I make to cool the chip, it seems to overheat. Except for blowing air on the sink. That has a positive effect. But when I close the case, I trap heat around the Northbridge. At least when the Gforce 210 was installed. I removed it, and it helped the temps. But I need the HDMI connection! In order to push the northbridge to its peak, I need the video to be in fullscreen mode. That way CPU, and NB are being stressed. While in fullscreen mode, I cannot see the temps. Hence my problem.

I really haven't seen a single issue related to the 64-bit nature of Windows 7. As far as performance goes, on a capable PC 64-bit has very little performance benefit outside of being able to use more RAM. In practical application, they're the same thing. Only a few very outdated games have given me any trouble and XP mode works for that just fine.

I won't hold my breath, but I may just have it stable again. I laid a 70mm fan across the NB heatsink, and it remained stable for 90min playing 2012 Raw bd format. No crashes :D Don't like the load temps though. 47C is still fairly warm, for the kind of air it was getting. I really believe something is wrong with the Chip now. To need the kind of attention it's getting. I just wanna limp it a little longer. At least til my brother can get a PS3. Then he'll be set for a while ;)

The case is closed, and idling around 39C, and 47C load. I just hope that the fan I actually mount to the sink, can do at least a fairly comparable job. I've seen it hit 54C without crashing, so I'm hopeful.

How do you send a PM to a member when you can't find a post from them? I've been all through the menus and no soap!

The aD user panel isn't very well designed in v4.

Did you line the case panels with some sort of noise absorption material? I never really thought of that but I wonder if it would help keep the noise down.

No, the NZXT Whisper comes with that pre-fitted. Is one of the reasons I bought it :p
It's an absolute godsend, silences some seriously noisy hard drives.
