Phyco_Can--- Everything there works together fine except the video card you chose. That one has an AGP interface, and won't work in your PCIexpress motherboard. You need to choose a PCIexpress card such as: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130214

Also, look into getting two sticks of 512MB Ram, and not one of 1GB Ram.
    Good luck!!!

If you need this much help, it might be best to do a little more research before you start. Building a PC isn't hard, but you shouldn't have to have someone else tell you if your video card works. I have a feeling this might not go smoothly for you, but it still could. Especially if you have people help you on AD.

Definitely go with 2 512 sticks of ram. I have the same mobo and it supports dual channel memory.

try altec, i think they are supposedly good. on the connectors, you'll probably get 1-2 3.5" floppy connectors & 4-6 5.25" hd/rom drive connectors

the 2 ports tended to be for the old at computers, can't remember seeing that on atx unless was on the early atx computers like the p2's.

Oh, yeah i thought it was for old comps, the one i want to do up has the two port thing. What i would like to know is would it be cheaper to buy a whole comp, or rebuild it?

depends on how far into rebuilding you are going. price the parts individually to see what the total is compared to a new computer of same specs.

Well since i cant just do the mobo and cpu , ill have to get a
    mobo,
    cpu,
    psu,

    ram,
a new hard drive 2 10GB aint enough,

Ive already got the floppy/cd drives and moniter.

    Is there any thing else?

First, to the moderators, im sorry for multiposting, i didnt notice the sticky at the top of the page:(

OK, im looking into building my first PC, and I have looked into a few of the parts. I would like advice on what I am missing and if all these parts are compatible, thanks in advance,

Case: Antec Life Style SONATA Piano Black Computer Case - Retail

    Processor: AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Venice 1GHz FSB 512KB L2 Cache Socket 939 Processor - Retail

Motherboard: MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 Ultra ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail

    RAM: 2x512 Crucial

HDD: A 120 GB, either Western Digital or Maxtor

DVD+RW: Already own a Sony DRU-510a which has NEVER let me down so I intend to keep it.

Video Card: Probably an ATI 9800 Pro

Well thats it, if any one could help me with missing parts or compatibility problems, i would be very grateful. By the way, money is an issue but not that huge of a problem,

    thanks in advance,
    Andre
