the six pin connector has 3 black, 2 blue, and 1 more blue with a white stripe. it connects to the motherboard which has six brass pins in a vertical line that it plugs into. hobo, i found that psu but it says nothing of a six pin connector in any description i found.

i think it is for extra power to the motherboard as what the p4 type psu's do. on some psu's, there is a label that states what wire is for what voltage. see if that label is there. what color are the wires that supply the power to the drives??

i don't see a label that states that. the color of the other wires are 2 blacks, one yellow, and one orange.

ok thanks hobo - the problem is that i don't want to spend any more money on this dell for parts that i won't be able to use when i build my own. so i'm thinking about building my own right now. what i need is a case, psu, and a new mobo. i am searching for mobo's right now but i know nothing about them and i don't really want to buy blind. i was wondering if you guys could suggest a mobo/cpu seeing as my knowledge in this area is basically non-existant

You guys have go to check out this case! It's so fine for an air cooled, damn, ohhhhhh baby...

Such a good price too, it's my next case garunteed. Well, maybe not, it depends on how well the X2's overclock with air cooling only.

Ok, stop, go back. What just happened, it's dejavue. Every thread I see, it happens something like this.

    1. Thread is crated
    2. Poeple enjoy and use the forum
    3. Newbie joins thread
    4. Makes mistake
    5. execute pulsar ()

Out of nowhere, you come in here, after having contributing nothing for the logest time (this thread is old and you might be somewhere in it) and make a huge thing right away of his mistake. Any of us would, right away, but you beat us to the punch as if you watched it the whole way through only ready to post for it.

Then you proceed to kiss the moderator's asses. It gets so old, I'm sorry dude, but has anyone else brought this up, damn. Are you trying to pretend to be a moderator.

I don't mean anything personal man, and I'm sorry that this is off topic. Seriously though....

reasons, reread the posts since hobo4430 did his on 26. August 2005 @ 10:05, you'll see i started the rule thing with hobo & i did it again at 30. August 2005 @ 11:53. only then when pulsar put his 2 pence worth did hobo4430 edit his email address. mouth into motion before brain into action, eh???

I find some sort of satifaction when my points are strengthened...

That is a good point I didn't notice, twoshea, you already had it covered, and yet the 'program' Pulsar () still executed. The notification must have got delayed in network traffic.

Srry dude (Pulsar) I could resist that one. It is redundant though, I've seen those exact posts before as if you cut and paste from a saved document...
