    Ok so I guess in a couple of weeks it will be right at 1000 or so. Will this PC play fear high settings?

    yes it should play it more than fine (with the 2 gigs of ram)

    did you decide on the 7600GTX ?

    Wow theres so many... Which one is good? I'm think of getting some good speakers. Some surround sound.

    the 7600GTX your getting will be plenty of card for that montior iam not up on BenQ LCDs i know the Veiwsonic(which i have) is top notch and the Spectra are very good also i pick either or over the BenQ.

    I bought a basic SB Audigy LE, and that's fine for my needs.
    aabbccdd, what's a 7600GTX? Last time I checked you could only have a 7600GT or 7600GS.
    That is the monitor theone has and is deeply satisifed with. Unbelievably cheap too!

    Would the card you have run the 7.1 speakers or do I need the card I suggested?

    It would run 7.1, but you wouldnt be able to have a microphone connected at the same time. Since I use 4-channel audio, I set the speakers to 4-channel mode and use the centre-side speaker port for the microphone. If you want 7.1 and a microphone without unplugging however you'd need the more expensive card.
