on my standalone dvd the playback stutters and jumps forward in time missing parts, tried 2x and 4x with bulkpack and ritek grade a media, its an msi 8x writer and used dvddecrypter (for hd files)and alcohol (for dvd to dvd), i have an msi 48x combo as the reader and both are connected to the same ide as master and slave, could it just be the media or poor dvdr or have i missed something

dvddecrypter (for hd files)and alcohol 120%(for dvd to dvd)
most have been with alcohol, the source is from the same media as i'm using so i'm guessing my standalone player can read them so i'm thinking my msi doesn't like the media

Get Nero CD/DVD speed and do a Transfer Rate test on your burned discs.

    http://www.cdspeed2000.com/

A good result/match should look like this:

A bad burn/result will look similiar to this:

thanks for the advice, i tried a dvd in my drive (3 actually) and never got a graph like yours, the last one just kept going downwards but the same disc in my combo drive runs just like the pic you sent for a good result so what does this all mean?
is it my dvd rw is faulty in some way?
also the dae quality stated p-cav and clv depending on which disc i used does this indicate anything?
if you need any more info to help then please ask
    cheers
