yeah its ok for the thread but its not ok to use as an everyday sig

 

deadrain, I like your sig....But, it is too big for the site atm.
In photoshop instead of just choosing "save as", use "save for web". It should fix the size up.

 

@DVDBack23: Great tutorial on vector art. I also check out Lynda tutorials & always find something good there. For a beginner though your link will be much easier to understand.

@DeadRain: Like the lettering, it shows up as 89.47KB which is a bit high. It would make an excellent sig if you lightened the characters in each letter & added a light color background on the outside. That will make the characters stand out even more. Try an embossed effect or something that doesn't increase the file size.

yet another person who is constrained to the box. If you add a background it will detract from the characters. it is the non-use of space that makes it all stand apart from all the others, & also helps it look different.

 

A Black stroke/white stroke would look better... But it's cool DR ;-)

thanx mrs_b... i do stuff for leasure, school, one-off jobs, and the rare favor for a friend...

i just looked at the tut for vectoring that dvd posted... its some what similar to my way, but a bit more complicated.

and i use the GIMP... and im planning to install it or my account is school too... if they don't remove it. and if they do, then its the GIMP portable. it'll save me from using serif draw plus.

 

anyone think they can make me a good sign would like a little bit of animi. not too much and would like it to stand out......im a big game freak and i collect dragons.......maybe something like a dragon with famous game char.(such as gears of wars) not just one char. multiples, faded a little behind the dragon with my name DRAGONDOG blending in with all the colors but pulled a little to be noticeble like see through magnification, and the dragon eyes glowing with animi. and little bit of fire from nose or mouth (not both nose and mouth will be too much animi.)...only animation i want is the glowing eyes and fire from mouth or nose, if eyes arnt looking too good then just the fire must have the fire

Lol, very detailed. Good stuff. However, I don't think any of us here are that far advanced animation wise for the kinda thing you're looking for? Well, I for one am not any good at animation, yet. Lol.

well... it takes 3 hours... so im guessing, not just now... cos ive got a sh*t load of homework and tests, and i've got to study for my exams soon. then skins is on at 10.

skins is one of the things on the sig... its on E4...

and the playboy bit is the legendary kari sweets.

 

i would try but i have no skills ill try it. and if i like it, ill post it.

dragondog - that animiation is a walk in the park...but i just dont have the time to do it right now. if i have any good spare time i will see what i can do.

@ ripper -- yeah skins its f*cking awsome... and i laugh at people in the US cos they dont get it... or, at least, i hope not.

and Kari Sweets is not a pornstar... she is a very respectable non-nude model... who is studying pediactrics, i think.

@ pepsimaxx -- i like the b/g on your sig... it reminds me of the fiat punto ad... which is cool, if you haven't seen it.
