It is possible but its also piracy, there has been multiple threads on 'backing up' Sims 2 use the SEARCH FUNCTION

You are also entitled to make a BACKUP copy for your own use.
    THAT IS NOT PIRACY.

Therefore it would be piracy, you noob

If he had a copy of his own and then backed that up that would be LEGAL

...he went and bought it with her in a partnership...
...and they use the software in HIS house...
...and they use it in HER house...
...and they use the same computer...
...and SHE asked HIM to make a backup copy...
...and what does it matter...it´s just like SEX...
...one time over here...next time over there...
R U telling me that never in your life you used a pirated copy of anything??

    LIAR!!!

n0v0n if you want to encourage piracy be my guest, If jono physically bought sims 2 then backed it up that would be legal,

If jono borrowed copy a copy from his mate and then backed it up that would be illegal

Man I don't want to argue with you but what he's doing is illegal :p

    That was a lame statement

    "They go to bed together...
    Therefore it´s his too...
    ...."

    It doesn't make sense

He isn't copying his girlfriends/wifes version that would be okay.

He's copying his mates version that illegal!

    under one roof mate...under one roof...and it doesn´t specifically state...what roof...or...who´s roof.

In another instance as an example according to your way of thinking...
I take my friends copy and go play it in my house and than I decide to install or copy the program into my PC with the authorization of the owner (the girlfriend).

To you this is considered piracy...to me is not.

The backup copy still remains ONE BACKUP COPY according to law. Take it anywhere, use it anywhere.

Don´t read the fine print too much...

"every rule has an ecxeption", EXCEPTION mate

Yes but if you don't have the original in your household, the police could do you over.

Therefore if jonos 'mate' doesn't live with him it's piracy on both jono and his mates account.

but SHE forgot it in HER purse.
    Just remember LOCATION...LOCATION...LOCATION...
as long as the rightfull owner is in possession of the original, there´s no piracy.
You probably going to tell me that I have to sleep with all my software under my pillow.
What happens if I travel and take a copy of my Windows XP PRO and reinstall it somewhere overseas, in a new computer that I just bought? Is that piracy? I don´t think so.

Than knowing that it is illegal...why did U ask if it was legal to make a copy. Maybe you need to learn HOW TO READA and TO WRITA DA INGLISH...JEZZ.

...and read the software disclosure....it´s all there.

    Ignorance must be a bliss

@n0v0n Its legal to make a backup, thats it. Even if its to be able to play it on your other computer upstairs, you have to "legally" buy another copy. And no torrents are not illegal. Its how you use it is illegal. If you use it to download copyrighted material, then you are using it illegally.

OK, I have a question. Don't people say mate as friend? Mate doesn't neccesarily mean GF or wife, or any of that crap. It could mean the guy down the street. Correct?
