yes, what a classic British attitude when questioning them on how they performed (or not performed) in a sporting arena.

as for the Ashes, remember what happened last time they played in Australia. it was a one-sided white-wash.

truth be told, i don't mind who wins it, as long as this years series is as competitive as last years was.

Well the "Battle" has started. Today an invitation side selected by our Prime Minister (ALL NON TEST PLAYERS) took on England in Canberra..the game has just finished...now heres the [bold]BAD NEWS[/bold] for the English.

At the end of the alloted 50 overs Australia scored [bold]5/347[/bold]

    England after 50 overs [bold]ALL OUT FOR 181 [/bold]

so I guess we just got there by 166 runs......Flintoff was the "Backbone" of the England side..[bold]He lasted 3 balls[/bold]

    Hopefully they will improve!!!

Late News...Heres a Report on the match

In short, yes England will stuff the Aussies at cricket, rugby etc etc. We're great like that ;-)

We cant have the kangaroos dissing the mighty lions!
Ashes, its englands era. But it will be proper hard. Maybe come down to the last wickets and crap. But still, Australia have a great team, not denying that.

Jesus, you're worse than gwen for celebrating past glories....

    West Ham 1 - 0 Arsenal.. ;-)

We'll take the Ashes, and maybe these Aussies will make a game of it this time -- soon as they realise that boasting and mind games doesn't win silverware.

indeed, looking forward to the ashes, but if we can't even beat the women's auxillary balloon corps second XI, then we could be in for a rough ride.

shane warne may be one of the best spin bowlers in the world, but he is still an arrogant t*sser.

and as for west ham beating arsenal - interesting to note that we are unbeaten when not playing the argentinians that were supposed to make us some sort of champions league team.
but that, as they say, is another story.

Maybe, We feel as if we have nothing compared to everyone else, and thus feel as if an ego is all we have. But even though Australia has no opportunities for its children (outside of Australia) we still kick you poms from here all the way back to your outrageously over priced London.
You give us your convicts because your prisons are full, what does that say about your crime rate? Stuff that, the ashes are ours mate,
    sorry I'm drunk xD

lol, that is true. Buying top class players in one thing, getting them to gel is another. Where are they anyway? Both look like rugby players.

    lmao. Friday night! Why not!?

    Overpriced? Maybe..

But we, on average, earn a lot more than you's so it's all good.

Forgive me for thinking we were playing for a 124 year old ceramic urn full of "Ashes"

BTW the Great Britian side (mainly English Rugby League players) got their buts kicked by New Zealand ...

England has another chance over the next 3 days to improve by playing one of our State teams.

    It's a figure of speech, m'lady. ;-)

Mainly, but not wholly.. We were still good enough to beat your shower the other day.

*Yawns*, come on girl, rep your country! You are going to have to do better than that! We'll see you again at the end of the Ashes tour :)

Actually that is where you are wrong!!

In 1882 while playing a "friendly" game some women burned the bails, placed them in the urn and presented them to the winning side.
Just recently the English have had the urn restored and it is insured for a "reported" 1,000,000 English Pounds. The urn is currently on display here in Australia for only the second time in 124 years.

Anything else you'd like to know about the "Ashes"???

LOL, I meant "SILVERWARE" is generally a figure of speech for winning things.. even if there's actually no "silver" claimed..

LOL, says she who invented England's Rugby League team!

It's only banter gwen, don't take it to heart ;-)

And it's only banter in return...will keep you posted on the 3 day match. I heard a report that a known "Confirmed" 17,000 English supporters have booked to come to Aus for the Test Series....AH the joy of disappointing soooooooo many....who come so far for a good old "flogging", Cheers.

[bold]And to increase our countries "wealth" and drink COLD beer[/bold]
