    Dear Friends,

    I have starview box -2, based in west midlands.
    API ver 2.57e_E
    Boot ver: 7.0

    I have tried to download GTRom_V4.00 & thebox_Ireland_H20070705_450eE_api using RS232 (female/female 9pin) connection to COM1.

    I keep on getting the Flash failed and will not down load at all.
    Thebox-2 is Genuine.
    I tried and tried and will not download. There is on load progress
    indication at all.

    Will anyone be able to help me PLEASE.

    If you are sure it is a Starview 2 (ie TheBox) and you are in the uk you don't load the Ireland version. Take a look at the link below inside 'TheBox' folder for firmware/Software then read in Starview folder/ 'Documentation' how to:

    also if it has come with 2.57 it might be a clone and it will not take v4.00 look on here for 2.57 fix for clones. hope you get sorted

    The Box is not a Clone one. I cheked out the box and remote.
