There is a second gen in ipod video right?

    how do you tell i want to get a 30gb but i want to make sure it is the new and improved one not the old one.

    The oldest generation for iPod Video is 5th generation.

    hardly, I think all it has is a little bit brighter screen and a search feature. The search feature can be put in manually if you care about it. The brighter screen just used up more battery.

    Now that I think of it I think the 5.5g has more battery too.

    Anyways, if you are buying it off the apple store its definitely the new one. So long as your not buying a used one, or off some guy in a dark alley in the city, its probly gona be the 5.5g

    However, if you like to modify the iPod firmware and make it look cool instead of having the boring background/ title bar/ games / etc on it, you would want the 5g because the 5.5g isnt quite customizable yet.

    No he didnt mean to say the second generation ipod. He meant if there was a second version of the 5th generation ipod. :S
