I just made a copy of Bringing Down The House and I dropped it while putting it back in it's case. Now there are fingerprints and little scratches on it. They are only in one area, though. Is there any way to avoid watching the whole DVD but finding out where (if it all) playback will be affected?

    Example:
Say the scratch was right below the ring in the DVD. Is there any way I could look online, find out what the playback time range is in that area and then only watch that area?

Best thing you can do is run scan disk on that DVD. You can use Nero info tool to accomplish this or use dvdinfopro http://www.dvdinfopro.com/
