tired of making coasters

    i just did. And i shall be burning a few this week so i will keep you guys informed. Think that was my problem? The firmware? and really waht does that really mean.........the recognition of media or what'?

    Yes it helps your burner to recognize new media and burn speeds.

    If your firmware is outdated you run the risk of your burner not recognizing the media that you are trying to use. For example, your burners firmware is set for 4x media and you bought 8x. It might not recognize it. Firmware updates are good, they make your burner more compatible with the new types of media being produced.

    well about that

    ive used verbatim lightscribe and for the rare ones that i cant find a good cover for i use maxell and reg verbatims

    ive burnt a few fine with maxell
    burnt a few fine with the lightscribe verbatim
    and burnt a few reg verbatims fine

    then on the same account sometimes it wont burn correctly...gets 2 differnt spots and stops

    recognizes it?

    doesnt recognize it mean initially? Like if it didnt i couldnt even start the burn or no? Thanks everyone for all your help, im goin to start burning tonight with the updated firmware
