TMPGEnc

    hey, i have an xvid version of a movie, but when i open it in TMPGENc it says it cannot open. It has Mpeg audio.

    If you had downloaded it from the net, it may be corrupted.

    You could try one thing.
    Click on option/environmental settings/vfapi plugin/right click on direct show, and raise the priority to 2.
    I hope that works for you

    Well there is a freeware proggy called avi2vcd dl this and use the other app called decompress this will uncompress the audio in a avi and make it pcm tmpge reads pcm much better anyway, usually the file after bein uncompressed will be about 1 gig or so. let me know if this works for ya

    Thank you,Can I uncompress the actuall movie? If so how do I do this.

    Using decompress exe. all you have to do is,click browse,find your movie, and click decompress.
    after the movie is decompressed,youll now have 2 movies, the one that the biggest is the one you load up in TMPGEnc.

    Ok, I have tried it on both files but it says this file cannot be open, or supported.
    Any ideas?

    can you watch it, and hear it on your computer,if not then you dont have the necessary codecs.If you can watch it on your computer,then check out your problems, with that very useful link that veblin posted.
