    Thanks eatsushi for the heads-up.

    One question: I've been looking around but can't find the answer. Does the 2.1 FW update add the Twin Disc Option to the Menu?

    @error5:

    AFAIK the 2.1 update doesn't add the Twin Disc Option. I'm waiting for the update disc for my A1 but from looking around I don't think it does.

    Thanks also for the info eatsushi. I just finished updating my XA2 thru the internet a few minutes ago. The update process seemed to take less time compared to the A1 update to 2.1. I'll try some discs later.

    The Toshiba-Canada site has official HD-DVD player (all of them) firmware (CD) image files available for download here...

    http://209.167.114.38/support/ceg/downloads/index.asp#

    Follow all instructions to a "T" for desired results!

    ----Later-----

    I just used the HD-A20 firware update from the site and it worked great. It took longer to complete than I expected (the fifth step takes forever) but afterward the CD playback, DVD playback, and HDMI connectivity issues I was having where gone.

    I finally ran into the Toshiba U.S.A. firmware download site. You can download it directly using the link below...

    The version 2.5 FW update is up and it adds 1080p/24fps output.

    I tried to upgrade to HD-A2 firmware 2.5 version from the old 2.2 version, but it says right away after clicking the OK button (after the agreement page) that the software finished updating the firmware, and it will now end the update, but it just stayed there and nothing is happening. The firmware version is still 2.2. Anyone seen this, and what shall I do to upgrade to 2.5 version?

    I downloaded the 2.5 version ZIP file but I have problem creating the CD disk using the ISO. It says that the ISO image is not valid. Although, I was successful writing the ISO to CD-R when choosing to create a bootable CD disk using Roxio. But, when I put the CD-R to Toshiba HD-A2, it says that the disk is not a DVD. I tried using DVD-R but it also says that the disk is not a DVD. Anyone seen this? How to copy the ISO to the CD?

    Thank you. ActiveISO worked. I was able to search the internet and found that out.

    Burned the 2.5 iso image to a CD-R as always with no problems (using Nero's "burn-image" feature). Installed on the A20 store display in about 10-15 min. Everything is working fine. The "Picture" menu has two new options "RGB" and "upto 1080p/24hz." Both features work fine after a quick test with the Superman Returns HD DVD.

    That is about it. Update to 2.5 then you should be set to go (for now).
