Hello, all. I am sorting a Toshiba laptop running Windows 7 64bit for a friend. When I turn it on I have to press escape to get into windows. Then there is a 126 character unknown password in the login password box. This must be deleted every time to put in the user password. Also, when I click "Start" there are about 30 duplicates of the letter P in the search box. I installed Microsoft Security Essentials and it found nothing wrong. I have installed Spybot Search and Destroy and it found 4 trojans, 5 adware and a tracking cookie but has not solved the problem. I then installed Malwarebytes which found one entry but the problem described above is still happening. Can anyone please help>? Tanx in advance of any replies....(",)**

Just tried System restore in Safe Mode and, where there had been an option to go back to before the trouble started, that option is not now available for some reason. System Restore now only goes back to two days after it started happening and I did choose "Show more restore points" option. Shuckz......

save your data 1st before reinstalling windows. do the destructive format option which will delete current partition, make new partition & reload windows to factory defaults. uninstall all the garbage that windows installs after it is loaded.
