I'm a total n00b when it come to DVD-R burning. I copied a DVD onot my DVD-R using Nero, and it reads fine on the computer but has some dvd player problems. First off, at the menus, the cursor's locations appear eitehr off-screen or in the wrong place. Second, when it plays, the screen is too low and flashes random colors. What do I do?
Joobot - welcome to the forums. As a former newbie - I highly recommend using the third tab above "Guides" - picking one that applies to your situation - and following it exactly first.
Hmmm never heard of your situation what program where you using to copy your DVD just nero? How did you rip the movie? Is it a movie from Hollywood or something you downloaded? Need more information.
Joobot, What type of files are these( extensions). If these are .avi or another type you might need to convert them to DVD-Compliant files. You might try this program VSODivxtoDVD as the price is right(free). After compiling the files use Shrink to compress and then burn the files w/ either Nero or DVDDecrypter. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_encoders/vso_divxtodvd.cfm
Their just VOBs BUPs and IFOs. Again, it runs on a DVD player, just with some problems. I'm using Nero, so what settings other than the defaults do I hav to set?
try a slower writing speed 1 or 2x and dont multitask while reading or writing. when u burn on ur comp make sure thats all ur doin. turn off security and background programs that usually run constantly.
Have these same problems occured from this? I want to make sure becasue thses are DVD-R, non-reusable.
yeah very possibly. just do what i said before and let me know how it goes. try one and post in this thread how it went. if good then problem solved, if not then we'll try something else.
