i have 2 original xboxs. one of them i used to play so much that it doesnt work anymore and there is no way around it. so i bought a new one and i want to transfer the data over to the new one. People keep saying to mod my first xbox then transfer my data over. but i cant do that because my first one is gone for! and i tried just plainly hooking up my old hard drive to the new xbox but it didnt work. i got red and green lights flashing.

Perhaps that's the reason why the xbox don't work either way if the xbox is unmodded you'll need to unlock the hdd & no you just can't plonk an hdd from one box to another, doing a forum search with the right wording will get you where you need to be
