trouble backing up 360 games help

    please help new to this i am using a acer 6920g laptop i have verbatim dl disks.I download the game and get a dvd file and iso file i use abgx360 to check then burn using imgburn i set the layer1913760 and burn.i am using 1.51 on my xbox with hitachi drive so this does not need boot disk
    i read some where about patching do i have to patch the game if so how please help has i have binned a few disks
