i have tried to backup "the grudge" and :the forgotten" several times. I am using shrink and decrypter. when i try to open both movies they both start analysing as it should, ( using shrink) each one hangs up at a certain point then i get a message saying failed to read file"D:\" data error (cyclic redundancy check). has anyone had this problem, and can you help?

If you run a serch, CRC errors, you will find about one hundred threads on this subject, reasons and many proven and unproven ways of surmounting it.

Use latest version of DVD Decrypter for these movies - no problems.

Your dvd is most likely scratched or pressed badly.

Shrink (FREE) and DVD Decrypter (FREE) will easily do the job. Make sure you check these; "Aggressive" on "removal method in General", "Brute Force -> I/O key exchange" on CSS, "Ignore read errors" on I/O. In addition, DVD43 (FREE), Any DVD, DVDIdle Pro, DVD Region Free+CSS any of these running in the background with any dvd burning program will make you a happy camper. The Grudge is nothing special period - it is obvious that this is old news.
