Should I go ahead and swap out all 4 sticks of RAM with the Crucial Ballistics? Or do you think the OCZ Gold Ram will work fine with the Ballictics?

Well if they're the same latency and timings they *might* be ok - but I do not know if duel channel will be enabled.

you can also set the timings for the ram manually, lets say two of the ram sticks have timings: 5-5-5-15 and the other two have timings: 4-5-4-15, then set it manually to 5-5-5-15 since the faster ram should run at the slower speed w/o problems

But I wouldn't be taking advantage of the speed of the Crucial Ballistics. I replaced all the RAM with Ballistics. The Cas Lat is 4. Whatever that means.

3.38Ghz on the first try. I know I can bump it higher but I don't understand those memory numbers(4-4-4-15) So first I'm going to educate my self on that before I do any more adjustments. This ASUS mobo gives you so many options that it can be a bit confusing.

yes, ASUS does give you a lot of options
on my striker extreme(asus), i just set all the voltages/timings to auto and the overclocking went great.

Oh man, why didn't I think of that! So how much were you able to overclock using the auto settings?

i had an Core 2 Duo e6300(1.86ghz) in there and it was stable to 2.93ghz
24/7 with voltage to auto which was ~1.25
now i have a Core 2 Quad Q6600 but i dont overclock that.
i will try to find the cpu-z verification.....

    dang it
cant find the cpu-z verification, i will see if later i can drop the cpu back in my mobo and get the verification...

im1992, you are the man! I set the CPU voltage and Memory timing to Auto. I increased the FSB from 1500 to 1525, just to be safe.
Now I'm at 3.43Ghz, and my boot-up time is cut in half. Wow this thing is fast!!!

It's those Crucial Ballistics. I knew the difference the moment I booted my computer. When I ran bios and saw the changes in the FSB, I knew right then that I had finally joined "the club". 3.42ghz is perfect, no need to go higher. But it feels good to know I can. Thanks.
