trouble updating my firmware for my PHILIPS DVD+-RW DVD8631

    I have Dimmension 8400

    I am having trouble updating my firmware for my PHILIPS DVD+-RW DVD8631. When I go to update the drive it tell me the Can't find Target Drive
    Please help with step by step instructions.

    Hi there,

    When did you purchase your Dell Dimension 8400 ?

    As stated above, you might have a drive from the bad batch.

    Based on my own experience and everything I have read, the Bad Batch seems to have started in late 2004, and ended in March 2005.

    After March 2005, users seems to be happy and seems to have working drives.

    I had HELL with this drive.

    If it still under warranty, call Dell Tech Support, and have them help you.

    If they can't figure it out, get it replaced !

    There's millions of threads on this drive...
