Having trouble backing up Troy - I have tried dvd decrypter and dvd shrink. Both programs end up with errors approx. half way through. Any suggestions

try running the movie through power dvd or windows media player for a couple of minutes first, then try shrink or decrypter, sometimes your drive needs a jump start.

Successfully back up Troy last night using Shrink and Nero method without problem. The burner that I used is Cyberhome DX162D-A. I used no name cheap media DVD-R and it plays all the way through without any glitches. So Troy is no different than other DVD movies that you can back up using Shrink, no special encoding as far as I know. Your copy might be defective or scratched. Try using new version of DVD Decryptor first then use the Shrink. Hope you have better luck next time.
