I have been using DVD Shrink and Image Burn for years, but lately, it seems I burn more coasters than movies and I'm just wondering how I can isolate the problem to a specific thing. Image Burn starts the process, then freezes somewhere along the way, sometimes after 15%, other times it will almost finish and wait for the Finalize, then the same error: I/O Error (I'm at the office and the full message is written at home.)
I'm using the same Verbatim DVD - blanks, same Asus DVD Burner, and DVD Shrink and Image Burn have not changed. I need to figure out if it's the blanks, the burner, or the programs.
Any help with a systematic troubleshooting process would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks ~
    Joseph

If a failed burn produced a log, post it and start from there.

Here is the log file from my last failed burn. Note: I dusted out my DVD burner which is an ASUS DRW 24B3Lt and the discs are Verbatim DVD-R Life Series 16 x write speed, both of which I have used successfully many times. I also performed a successful "Test Burn" without an error ! ? !

Thanks for your time, I know the "Reason: Logical Block Address out or Range" can mean several things, I'm just trying to figure out if the ASUS is toast or what is going on. This problem started some time ago, but I used to be able to get 2 out of 3 to burn correctly.

They're the CMC version of Verbatim Disks.
If it was me, I would buy some Verbatims with the AZO dye and risk one.
If it fails again, post the log at the ImgBurn Forum - but the first thing they will suggest is to dump the Life Series disks.
