Trying to back up Lord of the Rings Extended Edition = HELP

    I am backing up the Lord of The Rings Extended Edition and found that I would lose about 38% video quality, especially in the first few disks. Is there a way to keep video quality high? I am currently using 4.7GB DVDR media. I know of the dual layer media but they are pricey. I am also using Nero in order to burn. Are there any programs that will allow me to cut a movie in half and burn on 2 disks?

    You tried using Nero's Recode 2? You could do movie only.

    LOTR was one of the few movies I used DVD Rebuilder w/ CCE Basic to backup.
