    Hi,
I'm trying to burn .avi files I've downloaded onto data CD's. I DON'T want to watch these on a normal DVD player, just on a computer, so I'd rather burn the .AVI files directly so as not to lose quality. I downloaded Nero, but it seems to automaticaly convert to .MPEG...is there a way to use Nero or some other program to burn the .avi file directly onto a normal data CD? Do I still pick "Video CD" or is there another option?
    Thanks,
    -M

Nono. Just burn them as a regular data CD. No tricks required. You'll then need a PC to playback the video.

I Have done exactly that. Burned AVI as DATA CD yet when I play the file back it only does so with no sound!! Very anoying as I had copied 5gig of video and then formated my hard drive. This must be a common problem....some one must know what to do!!
