Sound's like a couple of unnecessary step's unless you want smaller avi as well as burning/media issue. What format have you got there, DVD Folder (VIDEO and AUDIO_TS), iso, mkv. etc and is it suitable to your region (PAL, NTSC)? ImgBurn (free) for DVD Folder or iso, DVD Flick (free) does mkv: here's an old guide to look over: http://beginwithsoftware.com/videoguides/dvd-flick-guide.html Finally, use good quality media (Taiyo Yuden {burn at least 8x}, Verbatim {Made in Taiwan, not sure on India} or any Made in Japan) and keep burn's to 1/2 the rated media speed.
