I have an interactive cd-rom etext that I bought for a college class. The cd requires a registration number to be used for homework submitting, so I'm not looking to pirate it or anything. I payed $60 for it, and want to make a backup to protect the original. The problem is that, when I make a copy (with CloneCD or ImgBurn), the mounted ISO doesn't fool anybody. It still asks for the original cd. I also direct copied the original to a cd-R using CloneCD (slysoft), but the disc will spinup and drop down several times before asking for the real cd. Here's my question: Is there a way to see what kind of copyright protection is in place on the disc? Any suggestions on getting this to work as a mounted ISO?
I can't say if these will work for you or not, but consider trying Power ISO or VSO BlindWrite. Sometimes one tool will work while another won't. There may be trial versions of either package but trials will have some limitations.
